Hjørring Municipality
Hjørring Municipality is a municipality (Danish: '' kommune'') in North Jutland Region on the west coast of the island of Vendsyssel-Thy at the top of the Jutland peninsula in northern Denmark. The municipality covers an area of , making it the largest in Vendsyssel, and it has a total population of 67,121 (2008). Its current mayor is Arne Boelt, a member of the Social Democrats (''Socialdemokraterne'') political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council is the town of Hjørring. Other towns in the municipality includes the harbour town of Hirtshals to the north, sea side resorts Løkken and Lønstrup to the west, Tårs and Vrå to the south and Sindal and Bindslev to the East. Eigil Nielsen (footballer, Born 1948)
Eigil Nielsen (6 December 1948 – 26 December 2019) was a Danish footballer who played as a midfielder during the late 1960s, 70s and into the 80s. Club career Nielsen began his youth football by the local club Hjørring IF and with them his professional career in 1966 before moving to KB in 1970. In 1971, he signed for Switzerland's Winterthur and he played there until 1974. Due to financial reasons Winterthur sold him to FC Basel during the summer break. Between the years 1974 und 1978 Nielsen played a total of 164 games for FC Basel scoring a total of 30 goals. 99 of these games and 18 goals were in the Swiss domestic league. 21 games were in the Swiss Cup or Swiss League Cup, 23 were international cup games and 30 were test games. In his debut for Basel on 20 July 1974 in the Cup of the Alps away match against Nîmes Olympique Nielsen scored a hat trick for his new club. Sisse Fisker (born 8 August 1976) is a Danish television presenter. From January 2007 to December 2014, she was a presenter at DR's daily news program, ''Aftenshowet'' on DR1, and she has been attending the "Healthy" exercise and health programs. During her time at DR, she has also helped cover several royal events and hosted the Danish Danse Grand Prix 2007. She previously worked on TV 2 Sport for 5 years. North Jutland Region
The North Jutland Region ( da, Region Nordjylland), or in some official sources, the North Denmark Region, is an administrative region of Denmark established on 1 January 2007 as part of the 2007 Danish municipal reform, which abolished the traditional counties () and set up five larger regions. Vendsyssel
Vendsyssel () is the northernmost traditional district of Denmark and of Jutland. Being divided from mainland Jutland by the Limfjord, it is technically a part of the North Jutlandic Island, but the name often used informally for the entire island. Vendsyssel is part of the North Denmark Region. Vendsyssel neighbours Hanherred to the southwest and Himmerland to the south, across the Limfjord. Whether the island Læsø is also a part of Vendsyssel, is a matter of definition.
