''Täältä tullaan Venäjä'' (Finnish for "Russia Here We Come") is the debut album of Hassisen Kone. It was released in 1980, shortly after the newly formed band had won the Finnish Rock championship. The outspoken lyrics of the opening track "Rappiolla" shocked, among others, Yleisradio reporters Anneli Tempakka and Maija Dahlgren, who started protesting against indecency in rock lyrics. In response to this, the band humorously dedicated their 1981 Christmas song "On jouluyö, nyt laulaa saa" to the reporters. "Rappiolla" became one of Hassisen Kone's biggest hits. ''Täältä tullaan Venäjä'' was produced by Eppu Normaali guitarist Pantse Syrjä. Eppu Normaali's 1979 album ''Maximum Jee&Jee'' had originally influenced Ismo Alanko to form Hassisen Kone. New Wave Music
New wave is a loosely defined music genre that encompasses pop-oriented styles from the late 1970s and the 1980s. ''Rumat sävelet'' (Finnish for "The Ugly Tunes") is the second album of Finnish rock band Hassisen Kone. It was a successful follow-up to the group's debut '' Täältä tullaan Venäjä'', and was certified platinum in 2005. Ismo Alanko has said that the album's lyrics partly reflected how he experienced the sudden success of their debut album. This is most evident in the song "Jurot nuorisojulkkikset" ("Surly Youth Celebrities"). Hassisen Kone played the song in 2000 at a reunion concert, even though Alanko thought it was strange singing the song as a 40-year-old. Finnish Language
Finnish ( endonym: or ) is a Uralic language of the Finnic branch, spoken by the majority of the population in Finland and by ethnic Finns outside of Finland. Eppu Normaali is one of the most popular rock bands in Finland. The band formed in 1976 in Ylöjärvi, a small town near Tampere. The band is the best-selling music artist in Finland, with certified sales of nearly two million records, and it has also gained success especially in the use of the Finnish language in rock lyrics. Ismo Kullervo Alanko (; born November 12, 1960) is a Finnish musician. He is known as the frontman of several bands, most famously Hassisen Kone, Sielun Veljet and Ismo Alanko Säätiö, as well as a successful solo artist. Alanko is known for his versatility and interest in different musical styles. During his career he has recorded punk rock, alternative rock, progressive rock, electronic music, schlager, dance music, children's music and film scores.
