Anderson Tyrer
Frank Anderson Tyrer (17 November 1891 – 16 December 1962) was an English concert pianist, composer and first conductor of New Zealand's National Orchestra. Biography Tyrer was born in Accrington, Lancashire in 1891 and studied at the Royal Manchester College of Music. He won a scholarship of four years from the County Council. He served in the Army in 1914 to 1918. He made his debut at a Promenade concert under Thomas Beecham in 1919, playing the Rachmaninoff second concerto. Over the next four years he gave a series of orchestral concerts in the Queen's Hall, London, playing concerti by Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, Grieg, Tchaikovsky, Arensky, Liszt and Mackenzie. He also played the piano part in Scriabin's ''Prometheus'' several times. Arthur Tyrer
Arthur Spencer Tyrer (born 25 February 1931) is an English former professional footballer. He played in the Football League for Leeds United, Shrewsbury Town and Aldershot. He was born in Manchester. Tyrer was with Manchester City before joining Cheshire League side Mossley. He worked as a plumber while with Mossley, until turning professional on joining Leeds United in September 1950. The £2000 fee paid by Leeds to Mossley was a record fee for Mossley at that time. He left Leeds in July 1954, joining non-league Peterborough United, but returned to the Football League with Shrewsbury Town in June 1955. Edward Tyrer (born Egg; Traditional Chinese: 戴磊華, formerly 邰華, 19 September 1917 – 24 August 2004) was a senior British colonial police officer who was Commissioner of Police, Hong Kong, from December 1966 to July 1967. When the leftist riots broke out in May 1967, he was unable to command the Force because he had been on vacation leave in Britain. Shortly after returning in mid-June, he suddenly flew to London on 14 July to report the latest development to the Commonwealth Office. And on 21 July, he was approved for early retirement on "health grounds", leaving many speculations as to the real reasons behind his decision. A few pieces of confidential official documents declassified and released in 2012 revealed that Tyrer was instructed to apply for immediate early retirement because he had refused to follow the instructions of the acting governor Michael Gass to suppress the riots. Hayyim ben Solomon Tyrer () was an important Hasidic rabbi and kabbalist, and is today remembered for several well known Hasidic works. He is also known as "Hayyim of Czernowitz", after his time there. He was a pupil of Rabbi Yechiel Michl (the Maggid of Zlotshev), as well as of the Maggid of Mezritch; both in turn direct pupils of the Baal Shem Tov. Jim Tyrer
James Efflo Tyrer (February 25, 1939 – September 15, 1980) was an American professional football player who was an offensive tackle in the American Football League (AFL) for the Dallas Texans/Kansas City Chiefs. He also played in the National Football League (NFL) for the Chiefs and the Washington Redskins. In 1980, Tyrer murdered his wife, and then committed suicide. College career Born and raised in Newark, Ohio, Tyrer played college football at nearby Ohio State University under head coach Woody Hayes, and earned All-America honors. Professional career Tyrer signed with the American Football League's Dallas Texans in 1961. He played 13 years with that franchise (180 consecutive games), which became the Kansas City Chiefs in 1963, helping set the standard for his position at left offensive tackle.
