Tyla (South African Singer)
Tyla Laura Seethal (born 30 January 2002), known mononymously as Tyla, is a South African singer and songwriter. Born and raised in Johannesburg, she signed with Epic Records in 2021 following the domestic success of her 2019 debut single, "Getting Late" (featuring Kooldrink). Tyla gained international recognition after the release of her 2023 single "Water (Tyla song), Water", which entered the top ten in multiple countries including her native South Africa, the United Kingdom and the United States. Edenvale is a small city on the East Rand in Gauteng, South Africa. Amapiano ( Zulu for "the pianos") is a style of house music that emerged in South Africa in the mid 2010s. It is a hybrid of deep house, jazz and lounge music characterized by synths and wide percussive basslines. It is distinguished by high-pitched piano melodies, Kwaito basslines, low tempo 1990s South African house rhythms and percussions from another local subgenre of house known as Tribal house.
