The 24th BET Awards took place on June 30, 2024, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California, to celebrate achievements in entertainment and honors music, sports, television, and movies. It was hosted for the third time by actress Taraji P. Henson. The nominations were announced on May 16. Canadian rapper Drake (musician), Drake received the most nominations with seven, followed by Nicki Minaj with six, J. Cole, Sexyy Red, SZA, Victoria Monét, and Beyoncé with five each, and 21 Savage, Doja Cat, Megan Thee Stallion, Tyla (South African singer), Tyla, and Usher (musician), Usher all with four. On May 30, it was announced that R&B singer Usher (musician), Usher would receive the BET Lifetime Achievement Award, Lifetime Achievement Award. Performers The first round of performers was announced along with the nominees on May 16, 2024. Peacock Theater
The Peacock Theater, formerly Nokia Theatre and Microsoft Theater, is a music and theater venue in downtown Los Angeles, California at L.A. Live. The theater auditorium seats 7,100 and holds one of the largest indoor stages in the United States. History The theatre was designed by ELS Architecture and Urban Design of Berkeley, California on a commission by the Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG) in 2002. It opened on October 18, 2007, with six concerts featuring the Eagles and the Dixie Chicks. On June 7, 2015, the Nokia Theatre was re-branded as Microsoft Theater as part of a new naming rights deal with AEG Live following Microsoft's acquisition of Nokia's Microsoft Mobile, mobile device business in 2014. As part of the new naming rights deal, the L.A. Live plaza was also renamed Microsoft Square (later known as Xbox Plaza) and Microsoft provided upgrades to the venue's technology.
