Tyger Takes On
''Tyger Takes On...'' is a British television documentary show shown on BBC Three which began airing on 15 May 2014. The show follows actor Tyger Drew-Honey as he explores life hardships that young people have to face. The first series contained three episodes, the show ended on 5 June 2014. Drew-Honey confirmed, during his appearance on ''Sunday Brunch'' in August 2014, that a second series of the show had been commissioned. The second series consisted of two episodes. Lindzi James Tyger Drew-Honey (born 26 January 1996) is an English actor and television presenter. He is best known for his role as Jake Brockman in the British sitcom '' Outnumbered'', Citizen Khan as Richard Scab before later appearing in '' Horrid Henry: The Movie'' and the television series ''Cuckoo''. Early life Tyger Drew-Honey is the son of pornographic film stars Ben Dover and Linzi Drew. He was educated at Danes Hill School, in Oxshott, followed by Epsom College. BBC Three is a British free-to-air public broadcast television channel owned and operated by the BBC. It was first launched on 9 February 2003 with programmes targeting 16 to 34-year-olds, covering all genres including animation, comedy, current affairs, and drama series. 1080i (also known as Full HD or BT.709) is a combination of frame resolution and scan type. 1080i is used in high-definition television (HDTV) and high-definition video. The number "1080" refers to the number of horizontal lines on the screen. ''Sunday Brunch'' is a British television programme presented by Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer. It is broadcast live on Channel 4 on Sunday mornings and features cookery and interviews with celebrity guests. Format The programme began on 25 March 2012. It was first announced by Channel 4 in February 2012 after the BBC series '' Something for the Weekend'' ended its seven-year run due to budget cuts. BBC Knowledge was a British television channel which was owned by the BBC and was launched on 1 June 1999, broadcasting documentary, cultural and educational programmes. It was shut down on 2 March 2002, and was replaced by BBC Four. History Launch The BBC had been wanting to expand into the digital television market for a number of years prior to BBC Knowledge's launch. Originally this was by their association with Flextech, which spawned the UKTV network. Both companies had different ideas on how the new channels would be run: the BBC wanted the channels branded as BBC channels, but Flextech wanted the channels to contain advertising. The BBC refused, stating that no domestic BBC channel should carry advertising, and in the end a compromise was made.
