Tybjerg Church
Tybjerg Church () is a Church of Denmark parish church situated on a small hill in the village of Tybjerg, just east of Tybjerggaard, Næstved Municipality, Denmark. History The church was constructed around 1175. It is the namesake of the local , whose seal features an image of Our Lady, indicating that the church was most likely dedicated to her. The church belonged to the bishops of Roskilde but was administrated from Skovkloster Abbey in Næstved, a situation which caused local dissatisfaction. The church was confiscated by the Crown in connection with the Reformation. On 31 December 1678, the Tybjerg and Aversi churches were transgerred to Tybjerggaard, which was given to . The church was annexed to the nearby Herlufmagle Church in 1681. The church gained its independence on 1 April 1917. Tybjerggaard
Tybjerggaard is a manor house and estate in the parish of Tybjerg, Næstved Municipality, approximately 80 km southwest of Copenhagen, Denmark. The Rococo-style main building was built for Tyge Rothe in 1653. It was listed on the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1918. The estate covers 475 hectares of land. History Early history Tybjerggaard is one of the oldest manor houses in Denmark. Its history dates back to the 13th century when it was owned by Jens Sjællandsfar. In 1325 it was passed on to his daughter, Margrete, the widow of Henrik Eberstein. Their daughter, Cecilie Eberstein, married another member of the Eberstein family. Basse and Godov Tybjerggaard was later acquired by Peder Basse. His grandson Steen Basse died in 1448 as the last male member of the Basse family. His sister Sophie Basse, was married to Peder Godov. Zealand
Zealand ( da, Sjælland ) at 7,031 km2 is the largest and most populous island in Denmark proper (thus excluding Greenland and Disko Island, which are larger in size). Peter Frederik Steinmann
Peter Frederik Steinmann (8 July 1812 – 16 February 1894) was a Danish officer and Minister of War (Denmark), Minister of War who served in the First Schleswig War, First and Second Schleswig War, Second Schleswig Wars. Early Years and Education Steinmann was a son of Lieutenant General and was born in Copenhagen on 8 July 1812. He entered military service in 1823 and in 1826, as an artillery cadet and in 1830, a second lieutenant in the artillery with the age order from 1826. He came immediately after entering as a student at the recently established Royal Danish Defence College, from which he resigned 4 years later as First Lieutenant and Deputy in the General Staff, but did not come into service with it until after going through the schools of the infantry and cavalry. Abel Schrøder
Abel Schrøder, also Abel Schrøder the Younger, (c. 1602–1676) was a Danish woodcarver with a workshop in Næstved, then the centre for woodcarving in Southern Zealand. He is remembered for his many auricular altarpieces and pulpits depicting scenes from the life of Christ. Schrøder was also the organist for 42 years in St Martin's Church, Næstved. Biography Under the sponsorship of Frederik Reedz, a ''lensmand'' or royal vassal, most of Schrøder's work was for churches in the region of Vordingborg. He created the pulpit in Undløse Church, the parish church for Reedz' manor Tygestrup, now known as Kongsdal, and probably also that in the neighbouring church of Søndersted. A stone epitaph in St Peter's Church, Næstved, provides a brief account of Schrøder's life: "Sculptor and organist in St Martin's Church for 42 years, husband of his dear wife Mette Petersdatter for 47 years with whom he was the father of nine children..." Faxe
Faxe or Fakse is a town on the island of Zealand in eastern Denmark. It is located in Faxe Municipality in Region Zealand. The town is most known for the Faxe Brewery, Royal Unibrew, a relatively large brewery producing a range of beer and soft drinks, soda, energy drinks, Faxe Kondi and many more and so on. Skovkloster Abbey
St. Peders Kloster, later called ''Skovkloster'', was an important early Benedictine house at Næstved, Denmark, active in 1135-1559. History St. Peders Priory, later Skovkloster, was founded by the powerful noble, Peder Bodilsen, his mother, Bodil, and his brothers, Henning and Jørgen with several donations (Danish:gavebrev) in 1135. Among them they gave town lands and many other farms scattered across Zealand and Falster. Archbishop Eskild, who was a personal friend of Bernard of Clairvaux, was enthusiastic about the establishment of a religious house at Naestved. Skovkloster's royal charter from Eric III of Denmark in 1140 is the oldest still in existence for any monastic house in Denmark. Næstved is a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in Region Sjælland on the island of Zealand (''Sjælland'') in the south of Denmark. The municipality includes the island of Gavnø.
