Ian Twinn
Ian David Twinn (born 26 April 1950) is a British Conservative politician. He was educated at Cambridge Grammar School for Boys (now Netherhall School), the University of Wales and Reading University; he then worked as a lecturer. Twinn was elected as MP for Edmonton, becoming the seat's first Conservative MP in 48 years, and serving from 1983 until he lost his seat to Labour's Andy Love in 1997. Twinn was also Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Party from 1986 to 1988. He also became the first Conservative in Edmonton to be re-elected for a second term (in 1987) and a third (in 1992). He was appointed a CBE in 2018 for political and voluntary service. Peter Frank George Twinn (9 January 1916 – 29 October 2004Dan van der Vat, "Obituary: Peter Twinn", ''The Guardian'', 20 November 2004) was a British mathematician, Second World War codebreaker and entomologist. The first professional mathematician to be recruited to GC&CS. Head of ISK from 1943, the unit responsible for decrypting over 100,000 Abwehr communications. Early life and education Born in Streatham, South London, Twinn was the son of a senior General Post Office official. After attending Manchester Grammar School and Dulwich College, he graduated in mathematics at Brasenose College, Oxford. The Schwinn Bicycle Company is an American company that develops, manufactures and markets bicycles under the eponymous brand name. The company was originally founded by Ignaz Schwinn (1860–1948) in Chicago in 1895. It became the dominant manufacturer of American bicycles through most of the 20th century. After declaring bankruptcy in 1992, Schwinn has since been a sub-brand of Pacific Cycle, owned by the Dutch conglomerate, Pon Holdings. Walter Patrick Twinn
Walter Patrick Twinn (March 29, 1934 – October 30, 1997) was a Canadian Chief of the Sawridge First Nation starting in 1966, and Senator from 1990 to 1997. He took control as chief just after oil was discovered on Sawridge reserve land; with the royalties from that he created a legacy for the Sawridge band by building first the Sawridge hotel and then other buildings. His funeral was held at St. Peters Celestin Roman Catholic Church on November 4. Born in Slave Lake, Alberta, he was appointed to the Senate in 1990 representing the senatorial division of Alberta and sitting as a Progressive Conservative. He served until his death in 1997. He was married to Catherine and had nine children.
