Ian Twinn
Ian David Twinn (born 26 April 1950) is a British Conservative politician. He was educated at Cambridge Grammar School for Boys (now Netherhall School), the University of Wales and Reading University; he then worked as a lecturer. Twinn was elected as MP for Edmonton, becoming the seat's first Conservative MP in 48 years, and serving from 1983 until he lost his seat to Labour's Andy Love in 1997. Twinn was also Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Party from 1986 to 1988. He also became the first Conservative in Edmonton to be re-elected for a second term (in 1987) and a third (in 1992). He was appointed a CBE in 2018 for political and voluntary service. The 2004 European Parliament election was the United Kingdom's part of the wider 2004 European Parliament election which was held between 10 and 13 June 2004 in the 25 member states of the European Union. The United Kingdom's part of this election was held on Thursday 10 June 2004. The election also coincided with the 2004 local elections and the London Assembly and mayoral elections. In total, 78 Members of the European Parliament were elected from the United Kingdom using proportional representation. The Conservative Party and the Labour Party both polled poorly. Thomas Edward Graham, Baron Graham of Edmonton, (26 March 1925 – 21 March 2020) was a British Labour and Co-operative politician. Career Born in Newcastle, Graham was educated at the Co-operative College and held several positions in the co-operative movement from 1939, becoming National Secretary for the Co-operative Party. During the Second World War he saw active service in the British Army and was seriously injured by enemy fire. Graham was a councillor on Enfield Borough Council from 1961, joining the new London Borough of Enfield in 1964 and becoming its leader for ten years. In 1966, Graham contested Enfield West at that year's general election.
