TVP 2 (TVP Dwa, ''Program II Telewizji Polskiej'', ''"Dwójka"'') is a Polish public mainstream TV channel operated by TVP. Television in Poland was introduced in 1937. It was state owned, and was interrupted by the Second World War in 1939. Television returned to Poland in 1952 and for several decades was controlled by the communist government. Colour television was introduced in Poland in 1971. ''M jak miłość'' (lit. ''L for Love'') is a Polish soap opera, revolving around the multiple generations of the Mostowiak family. TVP HD is a special High Definition version of the Polish public broadcasting channels (Telewizja Polska). A digital terrestrial multiplex carrying the channel was available in Warsaw, Poznań, Zielona Góra, Żagań, Kraków, Leżajsk and Krosno from the 6 to 25 August 2008. It was launched in August 2008. Broadcast is 1080i video encoded with MPEG4/H.264. It is encrypted on Satellite (Hot Bird 13C at 13° east), with 18 hours of daily HD content.
