Turn It Up!
''Turn It Up!'' is a musical game show that aired on MTV from June 30 to December 7, 1990. It was the second game show to be produced and broadcast on the network, produced by Albie Hecht, Alan Goodman, and Fred Seibert, of Chauncey Street Productions in New York City. The series was hosted by Jordan Brady with Stuffy Shmitt as co-host and announcer. Gameplay The show, co-hosted by comedian Jordan Brady and musician Stuffy Shmitt, features contestants competing to answer trivia questions about music. Rounds 1 and 2 In each round, four categories each with three point values (10, 20 & 30 points) were displayed on a video wall. The player in control selected a category, then host Brady asked a question. The first player to ring-in had a chance to answer. A correct answer added the chosen points to the score, and chose another category, but an incorrect answer gave the opponents a chance to answer. Albie Hecht
Albie Hecht is a film and television producer and media executive. In 1997, Hecht was the president of film and TV entertainment for Nickelodeon before becoming president of the television channel Spike TV in 2003. In 2005, he founded and was CEO of the digital studio Worldwide Biggies. From 2013 to 2015, he also served as general manager of the TV channel, HLN, and currently serves as chief content officer of PocketWatch. Biography Born to a Jewish family, Hecht graduated from Francis Lewis High School in Queens, New York City where he played varsity basketball and baseball and was President of the Student Organization. Alan Goodman runs branding and communications for, and is a founder of, TESTD Inc., a company that builds health and wellness data management products for providers, individuals, enterprises, and municipalities. He is a former American media executive, writer, and television producer who has worked in media since 1981. Early life and education Goodman began his media career while still in high school as a reporter at The Hunterdon County Democrat in Flemington, New Jersey. Frederick (Fred) Seibert (born September 15, 1951) is an American television producer, co-founder of MTV and the CEO of FredFilms, an animation production company based in Burbank, California. His official biography states he has led five (working) lives. He has held leading positions with MTV Networks, Hanna-Barbera, Next New Networks, and(founded) Frederator Studios and Networks. Seibert is an angel investor in several technology and media start-ups, has produced live action and animated programs for cable television and the internet, and began his professional career as a jazz and blues record producer. Jordan Brady (born August 10, 1964) is an American film director, director. He was a professional stand-up comic in the 1980s, and later played small roles in many TV shows including ''Baywatch'' and ''Who's the Boss''. Brady wrote and directed the feature film ''Dill Scallion.'' He directed the films ''Confessions of an American Girl'', ''Waking Up in Reno'', ''The Third Wheel (film), The Third Wheel'' and Maria Bamford's ''The Special Special Special!'' TV special. A volume unit (VU) meter or standard volume indicator (SVI) is a device displaying a representation of the signal level in audio equipment.
