Turkmen State Medical Institute
Turkmen State Medical University named after Myrat Garryev ( tk, Myrat Garryýew adyndaky Türkmenistanyň Döwlet lukmançylyk uniwersiteti) is a Turkmen medical university. Founded in 1931, it is the only medical university in Turkmenistan with more than 3,000 students. It is located in Ashgabat. The university reports to the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan. The current rector is Nargozel Myratnazarova. History It was founded as Turkmen State Medical Institute on December 29, 1931. In 2010 Turkmen Medical Institute became the Turkmen State Medical University. On September 1, 2010, a new building at the State Medical University opened; it is located near the "Palace of ice". Ashgabat
Ashgabat or Asgabat ( tk, Aşgabat, ; fa, عشقآباد, translit='Ešqābād, formerly named Poltoratsk ( rus, Полтора́цк, p=pəltɐˈratsk) between 1919 and 1927), is the capital and the largest city of Turkmenistan. It lies between the Karakum Desert and the Kopetdag mountain range in Central Asia, near the Iran-Turkmenistan border. The city was founded in 1881 on the basis of an Ahal Teke tribal village, and made the capital of the Turkmen Soviet Socialist Republic in 1924. Archabil Avenue
Archabil Avenue ( tk, Arçabil şaýoly) is a motorway in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. The eight-lane motorway has a length of 25.5 kilometres, and contains a dividing strip of more than 30 metres width. History and architecture Archabil Avenue was built in 2004 by the Turkish company GAP Insaat. The avenue hosts the majority of Turkmenistan's ministry and departmental offices. Avicenna Directories
The Avicenna Directory project was a public database of worldwide medical schools, schools of pharmacy, schools of public health and educational institutions of other academic health professions. The Avicenna Directory was maintained by the University of Copenhagen in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) in the years 2008-2015.
