Turkish Education Association
The Turkish Education Association ( tr, Türk Eğitim Derneği) was established on January 1, 1928, under Atatürk's vision and leadership. The organization acquired the status of an 'association for public benefit' in the resolution of the Council of Ministers, on December 12, 1939. Atatürk always believed in the indisputable role of education in the modernization of Turkey. TED Ankara College Foundation Schools is a group of private schools in Turkey. College consists of kindergarten, elementary, middle and high schools. TED Ankara College Foundation Schools Incek Campus is located in Ankara, Turkey. History At the request of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the Turkish Education Association (Turkish:Türk Eğitim Derneği, abbreviated TED) was founded in 1928 and led the establishment of qualified Turkish schools. TED Ankara College was founded in 1930 as the first school established by TED, and was the first private Turkish school established after the foundation of Republic of Turkey to instruct in English. In 1931, the primary school, in 1933, the middle school, in 1936 the high school were established. In 1963, the school's administration was handed over to TED Ankara College Foundation. TED Kayseri College ( tr, TED Kayseri Koleji) was founded in 1966 in order enable all the children in Turkey to benefit from the equal and high-quality education opportunities. TED Kayseri College is the third largest school in TED. Its aim was to educate brilliant, multi-lingual, cultivated, and socially responsible students. Education In Turkey
Education in Turkey is governed by a national system which was established in accordance with the Atatürk's Reforms. It is a state-supervised system designed to produce a skillful professional class for the social and economic institutes of the nation. Compulsory education lasts 12 years. Primary and secondary education is financed by the state and free of charge in public schools, between the ages of 6 and 19. Secondary or high school education is not mandatory but required in order to then progress to universities. Turkey has over 200 universities as of 2022. ÖSYS, after which high school graduates are assigned to university according to their performance. Turkey has 97% of primary school enrollment among all eligible children as of 2019. This number has significantly dropped with the Syrian refugee crisis. Many Syrian children left school during the crisis.
