Turkey Women's National Rugby Union Team
The Turkey women's national rugby sevens team represents Turkey at rugby sevens – however it has yet to play any recognised international matches. Rugby union in Turkey is administered by the Turkish Rugby Federation. At present, the Federation is not a member of World Rugby and so, currently, any internationals it may play are unlikely to be widely recognised. Şahin Kömürcü is the president of the Turkish Rugby Federation. 2019 Rugby Europe Women's Sevens Trophy
The 2019 Rugby Europe Women's Sevens Trophy is the second division of Rugby Europe's 2019 sevens season. This edition is due to be hosted by the cities of Budapest and Lisbon on 8–23 June. The two highest-placed teams will be promoted to the 2020 Grand Prix and eligible to compete in the European Olympic qualifying tournament. The two teams with the fewest points will be relegated to the 2020 Conference. Turkey National Rugby League Team
The Turkey national rugby league team represents Turkey in international rugby league. The team played their first match in 2018. History The Turkish Rugby League Association was founded in 2016, however the team didn't play their first match until two years later. The side made their competition debut at the 2018 Emerging Nations World Championship in Sydney, defeating the Solomon Islands national rugby league team, Solomon Islands 30–22 in their first ever match. The team also beat Japan national rugby league team, Japan 60–0, qualifying them for the tournament's trophy stage. Here, they lost to the Philippines national rugby league team, Philippines 29–16 in the semi-final before beating Vanuatu national rugby league team, Vanuatu 27–26, winning thanks to a field goal from Adem Baskonyali and claiming seventh place at their inaugural competition.
