	Turkey In The Eurovision Song Contest 1982 Turkey took part in the Eurovision Song Contest 1982. The country was represented by Neco with the song "Hani?" written by Faik Tuğsuz and composed by Olcayto Ahmet Tuğsuz. The entry was chosen by a professional jury. Before Eurovision 6. Eurovision Şarkı Yarışması Türkiye Finali The final took place on 7 March 1982 at the TRT Studios in Ankara, hosted by Canan Kumbasar. Six songs were to compete but "Müzikle Yaşam" performed by Şenay withdrew from the competition. Instead five songs competed and the winner was determined by an expert jury. At Eurovision On the night of the contest Neco performed 5th in the running order following United Kingdom and preceding Finland. 	Neco (singer) Manoel Nunes (March 7, 1895 – May 31, 1977), also known as Neco, was an association football midfielder. With great skill and tenacity, he was the first idol of Corinthians, being the first player to get a statue in the team's gardens (in 1929). As of 2006, Neco is the player who played the longest for Corinthians: 17 years. Called often to the Brazilian national team, he won two South American Championships: 1919 (team's top scorer) and 1922 (top scorer). Playing for Corinthians, he won the Paulista League eight times as a player (being top scorer in 1914 and 1920) and once as a coach (1937). 	Şenay (singer) Şenay Yüzbaşıoğlu (née Ekiz, 19 January 1947– 4 January 2013), commonly known as Şenay, was a Turkish singer-songwriter. Life Şenay Ekiz was born in Istanbul in 1947. In 1970, she married Şerif Yüzbaşıoğlu, a musician. Following her marriage she became one of the most active singers of Turkey. In addition to music, she made a name in politics by supporting Bülent Ecevit, the leader of the Republican People's Party. After her husband's death in 1981, she almost abandoned music. She spent her last days in her brother's house in İstanbul, and died of respiratory failure on 4 January 2013. She was survived by a brother and a sister, Halil İbrahim Ekiz and Şaziye Çataloğlu, respectively. 	Aysel Gürel Gönül Aysel Gürel (7 February 1929 – 17 February 2008) was a Turkish lyricist and actress. Besides her lyrics, which were performed by singers throughout Turkey, she was known for her outlandish clothing, make up and wigs. Biography Aysel Gürel was born in 1929 in Denizli, Turkey, in the western part of the country. She graduated from Istanbul University with a faculty of literature degree. Her lyrics were performed by such noted Turkish singers as Sezen Aksu. Besides lyric writing, Gürel also worked as an actress, drama player and a Turkologist. in 2007, Gürel appeared in a Turkish television commercial for Pepsi. Gürel was admitted to Metropolitan Florence Nightingale Hospital in Istanbul in December 2007. She was reportedly ill with lung cancer.
