Tuna Port
Tuna Port is a port town in Anjar taluka of Kutch district of Gujarat, India. History Tuna Port was developed during mid-eighteenth century. Fateh Mohammad (1786–1813), a shepherd-turned-king, had further developed the existing facilities at Mandvi, Tuna and Lakhpat ports, when he was appointed as regent during reign of Rao Raydhanji III of Kutch. There is a village by same name Tuna near the port from which Tuna Port got its name. In year 1900-01 during the reign of Jadeja King Maharao Shri Khengarji Bawa (1875–1942), the first railway lines from Tuna Port to Anjar were laid by narrow gauge line of Cutch State Railway,a railway promoted & owned by the Princely State of Cutch. The first train from Tuna Port to Anjar ran in year 1905. The line was in 1908 extended to Bhuj, then the Capital of the Princely State of Cutch. This rail-line from Tuna to Anjar, no longer exists. Anjar, India
Anjar is a town, tehsil, township and municipality of the Kachchh district in the state of Gujarat, India. Founded in 650 AD, Anjar is a culturally diverse town of historic importance in the region. Kandla Port
Kandla, now officially Deendayal Port Authority, is a seaport and town in Kutch district of Gujarat state in Western India, near the city of Gandhidham. Located on the Gulf of Kutch, it is one of India's major ports on the west coast. It is about 256 nautical miles southeast of the Port of Karachi in Pakistan and about 430 nautical miles north-northwest of the Port of Mumbai. Kandla Port was constructed in the 1950s as the chief seaport serving western India. It is the largest port of India by volume of cargo handled. Kandla Airport
Kandla Airport is located north of Kandla and Varsamedi Village Anjar in the Kutch District of the state of Gujarat, India. History The airport was built in the late 1950s. Indian Airlines commenced passenger operations by deploying DC-3 Dakota aircraft and later in 1960 using their F-27 Fokker Friendship aircraft & by HS748 Avro aircraft and was followed by Vayudoot. Gujarat Airways also used to operate flights to Mumbai until 1999. After a gap of seven years, commercial services resumed again in October 2006 with Air Deccan operating daily services between Mumbai and Kandla using ATR aircraft until the airline ceased operations in 2012.
