Tula Marina Di Vista
Tula Marina di Vista (1888-1969) was the pseudonym for Luisa Suzanna Kamerman, a Dutch artist and writer. Biography Tula Marina di Vista was born on 26 April 1888 in Caconda, Angola which was then a colony of Portugal. In 1913 she married the artist Dirk Smorenberg and the couple divorced in 1923. Later she lived with Johan Schmidt. Her work was included in the 1939 exhibition and sale '' Onze Kunst van Heden'' (Our Art of Today) at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. She was a member of , , , and . Caconda is a town and a municipality in the province of Huíla, Angola. The municipality had a population of 167,820 in 2014. It is located the Plano Alto region, approximately 280 km North of Lubango, the provincial capital city, and approximately 700 km South from Luanda, the country's capital city. Dirk Smorenberg
Dirk Smorenberg (September 4, 1883 – September 14, 1960) was a Dutch painter. Smorenberg was born in Alkmaar, North Holland. He started painting in 1906 on a professional base. He is considered as one of the few Dutch Art Deco painters. He travelled to St. Ives as an artist/painter in the beginning of the World War I. He also worked in Switzerland not far from Montreux and in 1910/1911 in the USA. There he exhibited with Piet Mondriaan in New York City. He settled down in the beginning of the twenties in the lake district of Loosdrecht where he lived until he died in September 1960. He painted in a decorative way. Onze Kunst van Heden (Contemporary Artists/Our Art of Today) was an exhibition held in the winter of 1939 through 1940 at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. Due to the threat of invasion in the years leading up to World War II, the Netherlands' government stored many items from the Rijksmuseum's permanent collection. The resulting empty gallery space was utilized by contemporary Dutch artists to exhibit and sell their art. It was organized by the director of the Rijksmuseum .
