Tseng Shu-cheng () is a Taiwanese politician. He has served as the Deputy Minister of National Development Council since 20 May 2016. Academic career Tseng obtained his bachelor's degree in architecture from National Cheng Kung University in 1984, master's degree in architecture from Tunghai University in 1987 and doctoral degree in civil engineering from National Taiwan University in 1994. The National University of Tainan (NUTN; ) is a university in West Central District, Tainan, Taiwan. History NUTN was founded during the Japanese rule as Tainan Normal School in June 1899. In January 1946, after handover to the Republic of China, the school was renamed Taiwan Provincial Tainan Normal School. In August 1962, the school was promoted to Taiwan Provincial Tainan Junior Teachers’ College. The college was then promoted to Taiwan Provincial Tainan Teachers’ College in July 1987. In July 1991, it was then again promoted as National Tainan Teachers’ College. In August 2004, the college was promoted and renamed National University of Tainan. Su Huan-chih
Su Huan-chih (; born July 20, 1956) was the magistrate of Tainan County from 2001 to 2010, until Tainan County's merger into Tainan City. Born in a rural township in southern Taiwan, Su graduated from National Taiwan University. He passed the bar examination in 1986 and started his career as a lawyer. Su made his entry into politics in the 1990s. He was elected legislator three times in a row serving from 1992 to 2001. As an experienced legislator, Su launched a magisterial campaign in 2001 and was elected with over 51% of the votes, becoming the second member of the Democratic Progressive Party to ever hold the position. Tainan County was a county in southern Taiwan between 1945 and 2010. The county seat was in Sinying City. History Tainan County was established on 7 January 1946 on the territory of Tainan Prefecture () shortly after the end of World War II. In the early years, Tainan County consists of most territory of Tainan Prefecture except the territory near cities of Tainan and Kagi (Chiayi). The county is subdivide into districts (), which is reformed from Japanese districts (). The districts are divided into townships. On 16 August 1950, another division reform was implemented. William Lai
William Lai Ching-te (; born 6 October 1959) is a Taiwanese politician who has been the Vice President of the Republic of China (Taiwan) since 2020. He served as a legislator in the Legislative Yuan from 1999 to 2010, and as Mayor of Tainan from 2010 to 2017, prior to taking office as premier of the Republic of China.
