The 1940 Tschammerpokal was the 6th season of the annual German football cup competition. In the final which was held on 1 December 1940 in the Olympiastadion Dresdner SC defeated 1. FC Nürnberg 2–1 after extra time. It was the first final which was not decided in regular time. Spandauer SV was a German football club from Berlin. History Early years The capital city was one of the earliest centres of German football and was home to 1. Spandauer Fußballklub Triton, formed on 24 May 1894, and Sportclub Germania Spandau, formed on 15 October 1895. These two sides merged late in 1920 to form Spandauer Sport-Vereinigung 94/95 e.V., the predecessor of today's club. Eimsbütteler Turnverband is a German sports club based in Eimsbüttel, Hamburg. Apart from football, the club also offers a variety of other sports, like basketball, volleyball, and fencing.
