Trygve Sverdrup
Trygve Sverdrup (22 July 1886 – 24 January 1964) was a Norwegian naval officer and politician. He was born in Christiania to engineer Harald Ulrik Sverdrup and Ragna Valborg Dahl, and graduated as naval officer in 1908. Oslo
Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. The municipality of Oslo had a population of in 2022, while the city's greater urban area had a population of in 2019, and the metropolitan area had an estimated population of in 2021. Tønsberg , historically Tunsberg, is a city and municipality in Vestfold og Telemark county, eastern Norway, located around south-southwest of Oslo on the western coast of the Oslofjord near its mouth onto the Skagerrak. The administrative centre of the municipality is the city of Tønsberg. The city is the most populous metropolis in the district of Vestfold with a population of 52,419 in 2019. Harald Ulrik Sverdrup (16 or 17 December 1846 – 1 April 1916) was a Norwegian engineer. Personal life Sverdrup was born at the farm Rise in Sem as a son of Peter Jacob Sverdrup and Aaselle Thurmann. He was a grandson of former owner of Rise farm Jacob Liv Borch Sverdrup, grandnephew of professor Georg Sverdrup, nephew of politician Harald Ulrik Sverdrup and Prime Minister Johan Sverdrup, first cousin once removed of professors Jakob Sverdrup and Georg Sverdrup, and a first cousin of bishop Jakob Sverdrup, professor Edvard Sverdrup, bishop Jakob Sverdrup Smitt, politician Livius Smitt and agriculturalist Jonas Smitt. The Storting ( no, Stortinget ) (lit. the Great Thing) is the supreme legislature of Norway, established in 1814 by the Constitution of Norway. It is located in Oslo. The unicameral parliament has 169 members and is elected every four years based on party-list proportional representation in nineteen multi-seat constituencies. The Order of the White Rose of Finland ( fi, Suomen Valkoisen Ruusun ritarikunta; sv, Finlands Vita Ros’ orden) is one of three official orders in Finland, along with the Order of the Cross of Liberty, and the Order of the Lion of Finland. The President of Finland is the Grand Master of all three orders. The orders are administered by boards consisting of a chancellor, a vice-chancellor and at least four members.
