Truva Paten Spor Kulübü, aka Ankara Truva, is a Turkish ice hockey club based in Ankara, Turkey. Founded in 2005, the club's men's team play in the Turkish Ice Hockey Super League (TBHSL) and the women's team in the Turkish Ice Hockey Women's League (TBHBL). Ankara ( , ; ), historically known as Ancyra and Angora, is the capital of Turkey. Turkish Ice Hockey Super League
The Turkish Ice Hockey Super League ( tr, Türkiye Buz Hokeyi Süper Ligi, abbreviated TBHSL) is the highest level of professional ice hockey in Turkey. It is operated under the jurisdiction of the Turkish Ice Hockey Federation, a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation. Unlike the National Hockey League, the Super League is not divided into conferences; teams compete in a single division. The league currently consists of six teams, from two cities. The champion of the league qualifies for the first round of the IIHF Continental Cup. History The Bel-Pa Ice Rink hosted the first match ever played in compliance with the IIHF rules and regulations, at the end of 1989 between Ankara Tarım Kredi Spor and Istanbul Paten Kulübü teams. Turkish Ice Hockey Women's League
The Turkish Women's Ice Hockey League, also known as the Kadınlar Ligi in Turkish, is a women's amateur ice hockey league in Turkey. It is operated under the jurisdiction of the Turkish Ice Hockey Federation, a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation. Each team is allowed to carry two import players per season. The season typically starts in late November – early December and finishes in April. The 2009–10 season consisted of 11 teams split up into three groups; Orta (Center) A and B consisting of teams from Ankara whereas the Marmara + Doğu (East) group consists of teams from Istanbul, İzmit and Erzurum. The champion of the league qualifies for the IIHF European Women's Champions Cup.
