Trion (neural Networks)
Trion is a basic unit of the neural network model of cortical organization called trion model. This unit represents a highly structured and interconnected aggregate of about a hundred of neurons with the overall diameter of about 0.7 mm. Cortical Column
A cortical column is a group of neurons forming a cylindrical structure through the cerebral cortex of the brain perpendicular to the cortical surface. The structure was first identified by Mountcastle in 1957. He later identified cortical minicolumn, minicolumns as the basic units of the neocortex which were arranged into columns. A neuron, neurone, or nerve cell is an electrically excitable cell that communicates with other cells via specialized connections called synapses. Monte Carlo Method
Monte Carlo methods, or Monte Carlo experiments, are a broad class of computational algorithms that rely on repeated random sampling to obtain numerical results. The underlying concept is to use randomness to solve problems that might be deterministic in principle.
