Trinity Christian High School (Hull, Iowa)
Trinity Christian High School is a private, Calvinist high school affiliated with the Protestant Reformed Churches in America in Hull, Iowa, United States, serving students in grades 9–12. It is one of two Calvinist secondary schools in the city. Western Christian High School is the other. Trinity Christian was founded in 2008, as a successor to Northwest Iowa Protestant Reformed School and secondary school for Hull Protestant Reformed Christian School. The school mascot, chosen in 2012, is the Tiger. The school joined the War Eagle Conference in 2013 and also attained Iowa Board of Education special accreditation that year. A one to one computing initiative began in 2014. Hull is a city in Sioux County, Iowa. The population was 2,384 at the time of the 2020 census. History The first settlers in the Hull area arrived in 1872. The city was incorporated on May 15, 1886. Hull was named for John A. T. Hull, a member of the United States House of Representatives from Iowa. It was previously named Pattersonville for John G. Patterson, before changing its name to Winland then finally Hull in the 1880s. In 1993, The Foreign Candy Company of Hull became the first American firm to import Warheads (candy). The ''Sioux City Journal'' is the daily newspaper and website of Sioux City, Iowa. Founded in 1864, the publication now covers northwestern Iowa and portions of Nebraska and South Dakota. In the context of education, one-to-one computing (sometimes abbreviated as "1:1") refers to academic institutions, such as schools or colleges, that allow each enrolled student to use an electronic device in order to access the Internet, digital course materials, and digital textbooks. Sioux County is a county located in the U.S. state of Iowa. As of the 2020 census, the population was 35,872. Its county seat is Orange City. Its largest city is Sioux Center. History Sioux County was formed on January 15, 1851. It has been self-governed since January 20, 1860. It was named after the Sioux tribe. The first county seat was Calliope in 1860, then a small village with 15 inhabitants, and now part of Hawarden. The first courthouse was built here in 1860 and served as such until 1872.
