"Tribulations" is a 2005 song by LCD Soundsystem. It is the seventh single from the band's LCD Soundsystem (album), eponymous debut album. The single's cover was designed by Michael Vadino for DFA Design. Use in popular culture The song is featured in the opening theme to the ''Sound Opinions'' radio show, the 2005 video game ''Project Gotham Racing 3'', the 2006 video game ''Driver: Parallel Lines'', and The Office (U.S. TV series), The Office episode "Night Out (The Office), Night Out". It is additionally a playable song in ''Dance Dance Revolution: Hottest Party 2''. Music video The video for "Tribulations" was first aired in August 2005. LCD Soundsystem is an American rock band from Brooklyn, New York, formed in 2002 by James Murphy, co-founder of DFA Records. The band comprises Murphy (vocals, various instruments), Nancy Whang (synthesizer, keyboards, vocals), Pat Mahoney (drums), Tyler Pope (bass, guitar, synthesizer), Al Doyle (guitar, synthesizer, percussion), Matt Thornley (guitar, synthesizer, percussion), and Korey Richey (synthesizer, piano, percussion). They are currently signed to both DFA and Columbia Records. The band began by recording and releasing multiple singles from 2002 to 2004, the first of which was "Losing My Edge", one of their signature songs. ''Project Gotham Racing 3'' is a racing video game developed by Bizarre Creations and published by Microsoft Game Studios. It was released exclusively for the Xbox 360 as a launch title in November 2005. Dougal Stewart Wilson (born August 1971) is an English director of commercials and music videos. His work includes directing several John Lewis Christmas adverts and the Grammy-nominated music video for "Life in Technicolor II" (2009) by Coldplay. He is set to make his feature film debut with ''Paddington in Peru'' (2023), the third instalment in the ''Paddington'' franchise. Early life and inspiration Wilson was born in Heswall, England in 1971. In his youth, he played in a series of bands. ''Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party 2'', later released as in Japan, was announced by Konami on May 15, 2008 as part of the 10th anniversary of ''Dance Dance Revolution'' celebration.
