The men's triathlon is part of the Triathlon at the 2022 Commonwealth Games program. The competition was held on 29 July 2022 at Sutton Park, Birmingham. Sutton Park, West Midlands
Sutton Park is a large urban park located in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, West Midlands, England. Most of the park is a national nature reserve; large parts are also a scheduled monument. Sutton Park is one of the largest urban parks in the United Kingdom. The park covers more than according to one source, or according to another. It consists of a mix of heathland, wetlands and marshes, seven lakes, extensive ancient woodlands (covering approximately a quarter of the park), several restaurants, a private 18-hole golf course on its western edge and a municipal golf course to the south, a donkey sanctuary, children's playgrounds and a visitors' centre. There is no entrance charge to the Park, however there is a parking charge for cars on Saturdays and Sundays during the summer. Jamie Riddle
Jamie Riddle (born 2000) is a South African triathlete. He attended Grey High School in Port Elizabeth, and later moved to Paul Roos Gymnasium in Stellenbosch. He competed in the individual and mixed relay events at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, finishing 6th in the former. That year, he was also the overall swim discipline winner of the Super League Triathlon. The following year, he won the African Triathlon Championships, held in Hurghada, Egypt. Matthew Wright (born 13 May 1992) is a Barbadian triathlete. He qualified to represent Barbados at the 2024 Summer Olympics. Biography Wright was born in 1992 in Barbados, and grew up there. When young, he competed in multiple sports, including swimming, surfing, cricket and football. While in primary school, he tried out triathlon for the first time at a youth tournament organized by the Triathlon Association of Barbados. He then competed at triathlon events monthly and began focusing on the sport fully from age 16. Wright made his international debut at the 2009 Oklahoma PATCO in the junior division, placing 43rd. After continuing to compete in junior international competitions through 2011, Wright began attending Loughborough University in England. Tyler Smith (born 26 September 1998) is a Bermudan triathlete. Career He competed in the individual and mixed relay events in Nanjing at the 2014 Youth Olympics. In 2018, he finished second at the British Universities and Colleges Sport UCSTriathlon Standard Distance Championships in Southport.
