Tri-Pride
Tri-Pride, stylized tri-Pride, is an annual non-profit LGBT, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer Gay Pride, Pride festival in the Waterloo Region of Ontario, encompassing the cities of Cambridge, Ontario, Cambridge, Kitchener, Ontario, Kitchener and Waterloo, Ontario, Waterloo. Prior to the launch of Guelph Pride in 2003, the event also included the city of Guelph. tri-Pride is considered Canada's largest regional pride festival. The official name of the organization is tri-Pride Community Association Inc. History This event was formed in 1995 and has grown ever since its inception. The event was extended to a week in 2003, and its 3,000 visitors made it the one of the largest pride events in southern Ontario after Pride Week (Toronto), Toronto Pride. Victoria Park, Kitchener
Victoria Park is the oldest park in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, situated downtown. It is the site of numerous events and festivities. A Berlin (Kitchener) map from 1879 has a Town Park, located between Mill Street and Highland Road where Highland Courts and Woodside Parks stand today. It sits on the original Joseph E. Schneider homestead; the municipal government had purchased some acres from the family in 1895 and drained the swamp on the land. The 27 acre purchase was initially opposed by some parties for being too far outside of town. The park opened on 27 August 1896; the lake, bridges and three islands were in place at that time.
