Tri-City Roller Derby is a women's flat-track roller derby league in Kitchener, Ontario. On December 1, 2010, Tri-City became the third Canadian roller derby league to be granted membership in the Women's Flat Track Derby Association, Having only completed two full home seasons, Tri-City gained membership status with WFTDA ahead of their Toronto-based sisters at Toronto Roller Derby. History and league structure Tri-City has three house teams, the Vicious Dishes, the Venus Fly Tramps, and the Total Knock Outs, which play each other at home, as well as against other leagues' house teams. Then-league member Motorhead Molly played for Team Canada at the 2011 Roller Derby World Cup. In December 2013 it was announced that Tri-City would be hosting a Division 2 tournament in 2014, August 22–24 at the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex. Women's Flat Track Derby Association Division 2
The Women's Flat Track Derby Association Division 2 (WFTDA Division 2) was the second-highest level of play in women's flat track roller derby from 2013 through 2017. Comprising different structures over that time, in early 2018 the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) announced it was replacing the Division 2 Playoffs with geographically-based Continental Cups, the structure and quantity of which is expected to adjust and possibly expand over time. Organisation Historically, the WFTDA divided member leagues into four geographical regions: East, North Central, South Central and West. At the start of 2013, these were redivided into three divisions, each operating worldwide. Nidaros Roller Derby (NRD) is a women's flat track flat-track roller derby league based in Trondheim, Norway. Bear City Roller Derby (BCRD) is a flat track roller derby league based in Berlin. Founded in 2008, Bear City is a member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). Arizona Roller Derby is Arizona's first all female roller derby league. It was founded in 2003 making it one of the oldest resurgence roller derby leagues in America. Charm City Roller Derby (CCRD), is a flat track roller derby league in Baltimore, Maryland. Founded in 2005, Charm City is a member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). History and league structure The league was established in 2005 as Charm City Roller Girls, when Caroline Donaghy returned to Baltimore from Houston, where she had skated with the Space City Roller Girls, and began promoting the intention to start a league in Baltimore. The first public Charm City game was held in 2006 at Skateland in Putty Hill. Terminal City Roller Derby (TCRD) is a flat track roller derby league based in Vancouver. Founded in January 2006 as Terminal City Rollergirls, TCRD is a member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). Twister City Roller Derby (TCRD) (formerly the Oklahoma Victory Dolls (OKVD) ) is a flat-track roller derby league based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
