History

The station began operations on August 30, 1996. Consisting of a platform area along the track, the station operated Thursday through Sunday and then daily on June 28, 2004. Service was temporarily halted on February 5, 2006; during which time the station was rebuilt with an emergency call box, ramp, and shelter. When the station resumed on April 20, 2008, it operated on a limited schedule. Tremont Station (Indiana)
Tremont was a flag stop on the South Shore Line located at Tremont Road in Porter County, Indiana. The station was built by the Chicago, Lake Shore and South Bend Railway and opened circa 1908, serving its namesake town and later the Indiana Dunes. In 1979, the Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission and the Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District (NICTD) conducted a study for the improvement of the South Shore Rail Corridor. The study recommended the construction of new station at Indiana 49 and US 12, a location within of both the Tremont and stops. The study also recommended closing Port Chester and due to low ridership, but keeping the Tremont, , , , , and stations open. Land acquisition for the new station () occurred in October 1982. A new entrance to the Indiana Dunes for bikers and hikers was added at Tremont Road, half a block from the South Shore station, in 1982. Tremont station (also known as Tremont–East 177th Street station) is a commuter rail stop on the Metro-North Railroad's Harlem Line, serving the Tremont section of the Bronx, New York City. It is from Grand Central Terminal and travel time there is approximately 17 minutes. The station is in an open cut at the intersection of Park Avenue and East Tremont Avenue (East 177th Street). Service at Tremont is limited; trains stop every 30 minutes during rush hours, every hour otherwise. The station is in the Zone 2 Metro-North fare zone. Tremont Avenue Station
The Tremont Avenue station is an express station on the IND Concourse Line of the New York City Subway. Located at the intersection of East Tremont Avenue and Grand Concourse, it is served by the D train at all times and B train during rush hours only. It has three tracks and two island platforms. Station layout The tile band is Claret red and the name mosaics are replicas of the 1933 originals. The I-beams have been painted a shade of red to match. Tile bands are also present in the mezzanines, and matching "T" (for Tremont) plaques have been fitted—the only IND station to feature these. A closed tower sits on the south end of the Manhattan-bound platform. The 2000 artwork here is called ''Uptown New York'' by Frank Leslie Hampton. Tremont Avenue–177th Street Station
The Tremont Avenue–177th Street station, at times associated as Bronx Borough Hall, was an express station on the demolished IRT Third Avenue Line in the Bronx, New York City. It was built by the Suburban Rapid Transit Company as 177th Street Station and had three tracks and two island platforms. It opened on July 20, 1891, and was the northern terminus of the Third Avenue elevated line until 1901, when more stations opened as the line was extended north. The next stop to the north was 180th Street for local trains and Fordham Road–190th Street for express trains. The next stop to the south for all trains was 174th Street. In its last years, a reconstructed section rose over the Cross Bronx Expressway at approximately 175th Street as part of the highway's development. West Farms Square–East Tremont Avenue Station
The West Farms Square–East Tremont Avenue station (formerly the 177th Street station) is a local station on the IRT White Plains Road Line of the New York City Subway. Located at the intersection of East Tremont Avenue and Boston Road in the West Farms neighborhood of the Bronx, it is served by the train at all times, and the train at all times except late nights and rush hours in the peak direction. History The initial segment of the IRT White Plains Road Line opened on November 26, 1904 between 180th Street–Bronx Park and Jackson Avenue. The Westchester Square–East Tremont Avenue station (formerly Westchester Square station) is a local station on the IRT Pelham Line of the New York City Subway. Located at the intersection of East Tremont and Westchester Avenues in Westchester Square, Bronx, it is served by the 6 train at all times except weekdays in the peak direction, when the <6> train takes over. __TOC__ Station layout This elevated station has three tracks and two side platforms.
