Treklyano Island
Treklyano Island ( bg, остров Трекляно, ostrov Treklyano, ) is an island off the northeast coast of Robert Island, South Shetland Islands Extending , with a low rocky formation projecting northeastwards, the island emerged as a distinct geographical entity following the retreat of Robert Island's ice cap in the late 20th century. Named after the settlement of Treklyano in western Bulgaria. South Shetland Islands
The South Shetland Islands are a group of Antarctic islands with a total area of . They lie about north of the Antarctic Peninsula, and between southwest of the nearest point of the South Orkney Islands. By the Antarctic Treaty of 1959, the islands' sovereignty is neither recognized nor disputed by the signatories and they are free for use by any signatory for non-military purposes. Robert Island
Robert Island or Mitchells Island or Polotsk Island or Roberts Island is an island long and wide, situated between Nelson Island and Greenwich Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. Robert Island is located at . Surface area . The name "Robert Island" dates back to around 1821 and is now established in international usage. Much of the Coppermine Peninsula in the west of the island is made up by a perched strandflat surface that was in past at sea level. Captain Richard Fildes may have named Robert Island for his brig . Treklyano
Treklyano ( bg, Трекляно, ; also transliterated ''Trekljano'' or ''Trekliano'') is a village in southwestern Bulgaria, part of Kyustendil Province. It is the administrative centre of Treklyano Municipality, which lies in the northwestern part of Kyustendil Province. The village is located in the Kraishte area, very close to the Serbian border and not far from the North Macedonia border. It is situated 40 kilometres north of the provincial capital of Kyustendil, 39 kilometres south of Tran and 100 kilometres west of the capital Sofia. Treklyano lies in an isolated valley at the foot of the 1,733-metre Milevets peak in the border mountain of Milevska Planina. Kitchen Point
Kitchen Point is a rocky point at the east end of Tirizis Island off the east coast of Robert Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. It is projecting into Bransfield Strait to form the southeast side of the entrance to Kozloduy Cove and the north side of the entrance to Kruni Cove. The feature is named after the Captain Joseph Kitchen, Master of the British sealing ship ''Ann'' that visited the South Shetland Islands in 1821–22. Smirnenski Point ( bg, нос Смирненски, ‘Nos Smirnenski’ \'nos 'smir-nen-ski\) is a narrow, ice-free point on the east coast of Robert Island projecting 1.1 km into Nelson Strait in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica, and forming the northwest side of the entrance to Garnya Cove. Newell Point
Newell Point is the rocky point forming the northeast extremity of Robert Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica and is a northwest entrance point of Nelson Strait. The feature originally charted and named 'Newell Point' by Discovery Investigations personnel in 1935 was probably the north extremity of the nearby Tatul Island, the latter only becoming detached from Robert Island as a result of glacier retreat in the late 20th and early 21st century.
