Travis Ortmayer
Travis Ortmayer (born August 9, 1981) is an American professional Strongman athlete from Cypress, Texas. He is nicknamed the Texas Stoneman due to his many world records in the Atlas Stone event. Ortmayer's strongman training complex is called "The Unit". His father, Roger Ortmayer, trains with him. He is supported by his mother, Sonja Ortmayer and his sister, Tara Ortmayer. Travis Ortmayer was born in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. Strength Sports Ortmayer started out training in bodybuilding in his early teens and eventually decided to train and compete in powerlifting. He met Marshall White, who introduced him to the Strongman sport. In 2002, Marshall and Ortmayer formed "the Unit" strongman training grounds in Cypress, Texas. All-American Strongman Challenge
The All-American Strongman Challenge is a leading competition in strength athletics that takes place within the annual Californian FitExpo. Although North America has a number of prestigious strongman events determining the "Strongest Man in America", the "Strongest Man in Canada" and the "Strongest Man in North America", the All-American Strongman Challenge has added kudos because it is open to entrants from overseas with the potential to bring in leading international competitors as well. Cypress is an unincorporated community in Harris County, Texas, United States, located completely inside the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Houston. Strongman Super Series
The Strongman Super Series, known from 2001 to 2004 as the ''IFSA World Strongman Super Series'', from 2005 to 2008 as the ''World's Strongest Man Super Series'', and reverting in 2009 to the ''World Strongman Super Series'', is a sequence of grand prix events in the sport of strength athletics. It was introduced in 2001 in response to concerns that, unlike other individual sports such as golf or tennis, there was no recognized international "tour" in strength athletics. Strength athletics, also known as Strongman competitions, is a sport which tests competitors' strength in a variety of non-traditional ways. Some of the disciplines are similar to those in powerlifting and some powerlifters have also successfully competed in strongman competitions. Marshall White
Marshall White (born April 30, 1982) is an American professional strongman athlete. Personal life Born in Houston, Texas, White lived for a time in Port Angeles, Washington, and in Pagosa Springs, Colorado with his then-wife Rachel, whom he married in 2005 and divorced in 2013. He was a mortician who owned his own funeral home in Colorado, in addition to being an active professional athlete and father. He now resides in the Houston Metro area. Strength sports White played football for his junior high and high school in Texas. Bodybuilding is the use of progressive resistance exercise to control and develop one's muscles (muscle building) by muscle hypertrophy for aesthetic purposes.
