Holts Summit, Missouri
Holts Summit is a small city in Callaway County, Missouri. The population was 3,247 at the time of the 2010 census. Holts Summit is located northeast of Jefferson City, Missouri's state capital. It is part of the Jefferson City Metropolitan Area. History Most of the pioneers in the early settlements were from the state of Virginia. One among them was Abner Holt who with his family traveled to Howard County, Missouri, in 1819. They settled there for the winter. The men built a house in Callaway County in the unnamed community now known as Holts Summit, and the family settled in during the spring. In 1870, Holt's grandson, Timothy Holt, plotted Holts Summit around a general store built by his father James Holt. The Missouri Senate is the upper chamber of the Missouri General Assembly. It has 34 members, representing districts with an average population of 174,000. Its members serve four-year terms, with half the seats being up for election every two years. Jeff Porter is an American businessman and politician from the state of Missouri. A Republican Party (United States), Republican, Porter was elected to the Missouri House of Representatives from the 42nd District in 2018. Having succeeded Bart Korman, who was term limited, he represented Montgomery County, Missouri, Montgomery County and adjacent portions of Warren County, Missouri, Warren and St. Charles County, Missouri, Saint Charles counties.
