Transport In Rwanda
The transport system in Rwanda centres primarily around the road network. Paved roads lie between the capital, Kigali, and most other major cities and towns in the country. Rwanda is also linked by road with other countries in the African Great Lakes, via which the majority of the country's imports and exports are made. The country has an international airport at Kigali, serving one domestic and several international destinations, and also has limited transport between the port cities on Lake Kivu.There are currently no railways in Rwanda. A large amount of investments in the transport infrastructure has been made by the government since the 1994 genocide, with aid from the European Union, China, Japan and others. Gatuna
Gatuna town is a town in northern Rwanda. It is a border town that sits across from the town of Katuna, in neighboring Uganda. Overview Gatuna is the busiest border crossing in Rwanda. It handles most of Rwanda's imports and exports, since most Rwandan imports and exports via the coast pass through Uganda. Kibungo
Kibungo is a town in the Republic of Rwanda. It is the political, administrative and commercial capital of Ngoma District. In 1998, Kibungo became the site of at least four of Rwanda's last 22 executions. All of the convicts were executed for crimes related to the 1994 genocide. Rusumo, Rwanda
Rusumo, is a town in Kirehe District in the Eastern Province of Rwanda. Akagera National Park
Akagera National Park is a protected area in eastern Rwanda covering along the international border with Tanzania. It was founded in 1934 and includes savannah, montane and swamp habitats. The park is named for the Kagera River which flows along its eastern boundary feeding into Lake Ihema and several smaller lakes. The complex system of lakes and linking papyrus swamps makes up over a third of the park, which is the largest protected wetland in Eastern-Central Africa. History Akagera National Park was founded in 1934 by the Belgian government, which at the time occupied Rwanda. The park was large and was known for its biodiversity. A bypass is a road or highway that avoids or "bypasses" a built-up area, town, or village, to let through traffic flow without interference from local traffic, to reduce congestion in the built-up area, and to improve road safety. Rwamagana
Rwamagana is a city and capital of both the Rwamagana District and the Eastern Province in Rwanda Description Rwamagana lies approximately from Kigali, on the newly renovated road leading east towards Tanzania. Kayonza
Kayonza is a small town in Kayonza district, Eastern Province, Rwanda. The town is centred on a roundabout, where the road east from Kigali splits into the road running north to the Ugandan border, and the road south to Tanzania.
