Trance-Fusion
''Trance-Fusion'' is an album by Frank Zappa. Released posthumously in 2006, 13 years after the musician's death, the album forms the third in a trilogy of instrumental albums which focus on Zappa's improvised guitar solos, after ''Shut Up 'n Play Yer Guitar'' (1981) and ''Guitar'' (1988). ''Trance-Fusion'' was among the last albums completed by Zappa before his death, along with ''The Rage & The Fury: The Music Of Edgard Varèse'', '' Dance Me This'' and ''Civilization Phaze III''. It was also among the first releases by Zappa to be made available digitally via iTunes through Gail Zappa's distribution deal with Universal Music Enterprises. Reception ''AllMusic'' wrote that ''Trance-Fusion'' "took way too long to see the light of day (and with cover art more suited to a Kitaro album), but for the FZ faithful it was worth the wait. Keep your fingers crossed for more." Track listing All tracks written, composed and arranged by Frank Zappa. Personnel * Frank Zappa – guitar, ...

Dance Me This
''Dance Me This'' is an album by Frank Zappa. Released posthumously in June 2015, it was among the last releases completed by Zappa before his death, along with ''The Rage & The Fury: The Music Of Edgard Varèse'', ''Trance-Fusion'' and ''Civilization Phaze III''. Overview In the liner notes, Todd Yvega comments, "It is remarkable that Frank was able to construct such a cohesive arc, juxtaposing and superimposing such disparate materials, some of which had been in the works for years, while others were the fruit of the previous week's happenstance. Thrown into the creative mix were the incidentals (it was FZ's bent to be open to changing course and making use of whatever happens along). Earlier that year, on February 15th, 1993 - the Zappa family hosted a birthday party for Matt Groening; in attendance was a trio of throat singers from Tuva in southern Siberia who were on a US concert tour. Naturally a recording session ensued, and the Tuvans' vocals ultimately became prominent on ...

''Guitar'' is a 1988 live album by Frank Zappa. It is the follow-up to 1981's ''Shut Up 'n Play Yer Guitar''; like that album it features Zappa's guitar solos excerpted from live performances, recorded between 1979 and 1984. It garnered Zappa his sixth Grammy nomination for "Best Rock Instrumental Performance". Background ''Guitar'' was originally intended to be a 3-record box set (like ''Shut Up 'n Play Yer Guitar''), but Zappa decided, with this release, to start using compact discs as his primary distribution medium rather than records. As such, it was Zappa's first album to be released simultaneously on vinyl and CD. Aside from "Watermelon in Easter Hay", "Sexual Harassment In The Workplace" and " Outside Now," all tracks were derived from performances o ...

It was mostly inactive during the 1980s and 1990s, but was revived in 2006 by the Zappa Family Trust. History In May 1976, Zappa ended his relationship with manager and business partner Herb Cohen. Around mid 1977, Zappa founded Zappa Records, and negotiated a deal with Phonogram Inc., to distribute the label's releases in the United States and Canada. Under this agreement Zappa planned to release a four-LP box set titled ''Läther'' (pronounced ''"Leather"''.) The album was scheduled for release on Halloween, October 31, 1977, but production was cancelled at the test pressing stage. Zappa and Phonogram were forced to shelve the package following a legal threat from Warner. The first release by Zapp ...
