Tram-train De L'ouest Lyonnais
The tram-train de l'ouest lyonnais (in English, Western Lyon tram-train) is a tram-train network in the urban area of Lyon in the region Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, with two lines departing from Lyon-Saint-Paul station. This network is managed as a part of the TER Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes regional train system and it is operated by SNCF Voyageurs. Both two tram-train lines offers a connection with Lyon Metro Line D at Lyon-Gorge-de-Loup station, Lyon Gorge de Loup. Project The project consists of the creation of three tram-train lines departing from Lyon-Saint-Paul station, Lyon Saint-Paul to Sain-Bel, Brignais and Lozanne, with the aim to improve the traffic between these railway stations. Some rail lines have been doubled, platforms rebuilt, and stations modernised. The total cost of the project is around €150·2m. Lyon Tramway
The Lyon tramway () comprises eight lines, seven lines operated by Transports en commun lyonnais, TCL and one by Rhônexpress, in the city of Lyon, France. The original tramway network in Lyon was developed in 1879; the modern network started operation in 2001. Lines T1 and T2 opened in January 2001; T3 opened in December 2006; line T4 opened in April 2009; line Rhônexpress (airport connector) opened in August 2010; line T5 opened in November 2012; line T6 opened in November 2019 and line T7 opened in February 2021. The Nantes tram-train () is a tram-train network operating in the French city of Nantes and the surrounding region. Background The Nantes to Châteaubriant railway line was part of a former Nantes to Rennes railway route which originally opened in 1877. The Nantes to Châteaubriant section closed to passenger traffic in 1980 and to freight in 2008. Approval to modernise this line received approval in 2009; and in 2014, the line reopened for exclusive use of the Nantes tram-train network, becoming the second line to operate after an existing line to Clisson opened in 2011, sharing track with mainline trains. Brignais
Brignais () is a commune of the Rhône department in eastern France. History During the Hundred Years War, was the scene of the Battle of Brignais in April 1362 between the royal army of John II and an amalgamation of mercenary companies Tard-Venus (the late comers). These mercenaries had been made unemployed after the Treaty of Brétigny in 1360 and subsequent period of peace between England and France spanning 1360-1369. They had formed a Free company, one of many that plundered much of central and southern France. The battle lasting two days, led to a devastating defeat of the royal army with the death and capture of many of the senior commanders. Lyon Metro Line D
Line D () is a rapid-transit line on the Lyon Metro. It runs east–west underneath the two major rivers of Lyon, France, connecting Vieux Lyon with the Presqu'ile and the Part-Dieu region. Line D commenced operation under human control on 4 September 1991, between ''Gorge de Loup'' and ''Grange Blanche''.
