Trades Cup
The Trades Cup (also known as the Trades Challenge Cup or IFA Trades Challenge Cup) is an Indian football tournament held in Kolkata and organised by Indian Football Association. Incorporated in 1889, it is the second oldest football tournament in Asia and oldest football tournament in Kolkata. It is the traditional curtain raiser for the Kolkata football season. History The Trades Cup was instituted in 1889 by the trading community of Calcutta and was organised by the Dalhousie AC committee. It was the first open football tournament in India, where Indian, British, regimental and college clubs participated. The first Indian club to win a match against a British team was Nagendra Prasad Sarbadhikari's Sovabazar Club. They won the opening match of the 1892 Trades Cup by defeating the East Surrey Regiment with the score of 2–1. Indian Football Association
The Indian Football Association, abbreviated as IFA, is the organisation that administers association football in the state of West Bengal, India. It is the oldest Football Association in India and was founded in 1893. Among the founders was former English international Elphinstone Jackson. It organises tournaments such as the Calcutta Football League, the Calcutta Women's Football League and the IFA Shield. From 2021, the IFA also took an initiative to start its own futsal league. West Bengal Police
The West Bengal Police is one of the two police forces of the Indian state of West Bengal. The other being the Kolkata Police, which has a separate jurisdiction across Kolkata. Wari Athletic Club ( bn, উয়ারী অ্যাথলেটিক ক্লাব) is an Indian multi-sports club based in the city of Kolkata, West Bengal. Eastern Railway Football Club (formerly known as both the East Bengal Railway FC and Eastern Bengal Railway FC) is an Indian institutional football club based in Kolkata, West Bengal. Howrah Union is an Indian multisports club based in the city of Kolkata, whose football team competes in the Calcutta Football League. The club previously competed in Super Division of CFL. Their cricket team plays in the CAB tournaments. History Howrah Union club was formed in 1922, by Panchanon Choungda from Amta, Howrah.
