Trade Last
''Trade Last'' is the fourth album of the Japanese rock group Show-Ya. The album was released on 4 February 1987 in Japan. All the lyrics were written by Yasushi Akimoto and half of the music by Kyōhei Tsutsumi. The musical arrangements were done by Makoto Matsushita. Overview By the year 1987, the band had acquired a loyal fan base and was able to fill up mid-sized arenas with their live shows in Japan. Their TV appearances were also more frequent and demanding, requiring a more professional approach to the musical business. This important step in the band's career needed money to be invested in new stage sets, personnel, costumes and equipment, which came out of a two-album contract with Yasushi Akimoto's Sold Out Productions. Show-Ya
are a Japanese all-female heavy metal band formed in 1981. The group disbanded in 1998, but reformed with the original line-up in 2005 for the 20th anniversary of their first release. Their music is deeply rooted in classic rock and they have covered songs by bands and artists such as The Beatles, The Doors, the Yardbirds, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, and AC/DC in their albums and live shows. Their music evolved from the pop rock genre of their first offerings to the heavy metal genre of their most successful albums, ''Outerlimits'' (1989) and ''Hard Way'' (1990). Show-Ya annually organizes and produces the all-female rock festival Naon no Yaon, which they founded in 1987. Kyōhei Tsutsumi
(born Eikichi Watanabe, 28 May 1940 - 7 October 2020), was a Japanese composer, record producer and arranger. Tsutsumi began his career as a songwriter about 1966, and he came to prominence as a composer of Ayumi Ishida's chart-topping hit "Blue Light Yokohama" in the late 1960s. He has released nearly 3,000 compositions to date, over 500 of which have entered the Japanese Oricon singles chart. Tsutsumi is the most commercially successful composer of the Japanese popular music of last five decades, selling over 76 million units on the country's singles chart from 1968 onwards. Two of his compositions won the grand prix of Japan Record Award— "Mata Au Hi Made" performed by Kiyohiko Ozaki in 1971 and "Miserarete" by Judy Ongg in 1979. Nakano Sun Plaza
, formerly Nakano Sun Plaza, is a hotel in Nakano, Tokyo. The hotel includes a concert hall, the Nakano Sunplaza Hall (formerly Nakano Sun Plaza Hall). Keiko Terada
is a Japanese rock singer. She was co-founder and lead singer of the successful Japanese female hard rock and heavy metal band Show-Ya from 1982 to 1991, before going solo. On her solo albums she expanded from hard rock and heavy metal to blues, pop and soul. Terada's trademark for many years was a fake rose tattoo she wore above her right breast. She was inspired by Bette Midler's film '' The Rose'', in which Midler played a Janis Joplin-like character. She maintained over the years a relevant presence in both Japanese TV and Radio, both alone and as member of other bands. She is now member of the reformed Show-Ya and of the special group Nishidera Minoru. Ways (album)
''Ways'' is the third album of the Japanese rock group Show-Ya. The album was released on 3 September 1986 in Japan. All the songs were arranged by Tadashi Namba & Show-Ya. Overview Despite being recorded only six months after their previous album '' Queendom'', this album manifests a strong progression both in cohesiveness of the musicians and sound. In fact, the arrangements and compositions are tighter as the result of a real group effort, while the sound of the album is very similar to what could be heard at a Show-Ya's live show at that time. On the contrary, the two poppier songs on the album "S・T・O・P (But I Can't...)" and the single "One Way Heart" were not composed by the band and are almost harbingers of next album ''Trade Lasts style. The single was also used as theme for a Japanese TV show. The hard rocker "Fairy" has since become a staple of every Show-Ya's live show.
