Tracy Barlow (runner)
Tracy Barlow (born 18 June 1985) is a British long distance runner. She has represented Great Britain in the marathon at the 2017 World Championships in Athletics and 2018 European Athletics Championships. Her marathon best of 2:30:42, set in 2017, ranks her in the UK all-time top 25. Barlow did not have a strong background in track and field in her youth and mainly took part in sprinting events at school. She only began taking part in club distance running competitions with Thames Valley Harriers in 2008 at the age of 23. She entered the Run to the Beat half marathon in 2010 and ranked in the top 400. She completed her first marathon at the 2011 London Marathon, finishing in 3:52:59 hours and placing 1402nd in the mass race. She steadily improved in 2012, running 3:27:18 hours at the 2012 London Marathon then 3:17:45 at the 2012 Amsterdam Marathon. 2017 London Marathon
The 2017 London Marathon was the 37th running of the annual marathon race in London, England, which took place on Sunday, 23 April. Mary Jepkosgei Keitany won the women's race, setting a new women-only marathon world record with a time of 2:17:01, while Daniel Wanjiru came first in the men's race in 2:05:48. David Weir (wheelchair athlete), David Weir claimed a record breaking seventh win at the London Marathon in the men's wheelchair event. The win broke a tie between Weir and Tanni Gray Thompson for the most wins at the London Marathon. Around 253,930 people applied to enter the race: 53,229 had their applications accepted and 40,048 started the race. These were all record highs for the race. Toronto Waterfront Marathon
The Toronto Waterfront Marathon is an annual marathon held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada in October. The race day also includes a half marathon and 5 km race. The race has quickly become an elite level marathon and is one of just five World Athletics Gold Label Road Race marathons in North America. At the 2013 edition of the race, race winner Deressa Chimsa broke the men's course record with the fastest marathon ever recorded on Canadian soil. The 2019 London Marathon was the 39th running of the annual marathon race in London, United Kingdom, which took place on 28 April. The elite men's race was won by Kenyan Eliud Kipchoge, who took his fourth London Marathon victory in a time of 2:02:37, the second fastest marathon ever at that point. 2017 World Championships In Athletics – Women's Marathon
The women's marathon was one of the road events at the 2017 World Championships in Athletics in London. It took place on 6 August 2017 on the streets of London, and consisted of four laps of a roughly course which passed several of London's landmarks. For the first time in World Championships history, the men's and women's marathons took place on the same day. The race was won by Rose Chelimo of Bahrain in 2:27:11, seven seconds ahead of Kenya's Edna Kiplagat in second. Alyson Dixon
Alyson Dixon (born 24 September in Sunderland) is an English long-distance runner. Athletic career Dixon won the 2011 Brighton Marathon. She competed for England at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, but did not finish due to an Achilles tendon injury. She competed for Great Britain at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, finishing 28th in the women's marathon. In September 2019 Dixon won the 50km world championship in Brasov, Romania setting a world record time of 3:07:20. Her record stood until 2021, when it was broken by Des Linden. Charlotte Purdue (born 10 June 1991) is a British long-distance runner who competes in the Marathon and Half Marathon, as well as cross country running for Aldershot, Farnham and District Athletics Club. After winning a number of youth titles at national level, she had her first international success at the European Cross Country Championships, winning medals in the junior races of 2007 and 2008. She was also the best European junior at the World Cross Country Championships those years. She won a 5000 m silver medal at the 2009 European Junior Championships and went on to represent England at the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
