Tracks (Vasco Rossi Album)
''Tracks'' is the first compilation album by Italian singer-songwriter Vasco Rossi, released by EMI Records on 22 November 2002. ''Tracks'' was released as a double album featuring 24 songs, including hits released by Vasco Rossi at the beginning of his career, such as "Splendida giornata", as well as more recent singles. It was preceded by the single "Generale", a previously unreleased live cover of the song originally written and recorded by Francesco De Gregori. The single was recorded live on 7 July 1995 at the San Siro stadium in Milan. The album was the best-selling record of 2002 in Italy. According to EMI Record, it had sold more than 650,000 units by the end of the year, despite being released in late November. The Festivalbar was an Italian singing competition that took place in the most important Italian squares during summer, such as the Piazza del Duomo, Catania or Piazza Bra, Verona. The first edition took place in 1964 and was broadcast by RAI. The competition was held throughout the summer and the final round always took place at the Arena in Verona after 3-4 events in various cities of Italy. Francesco De Gregori OMRI (born 4 April 1951) is an Italian singer-songwriter. In Italy, he is popularly known as "Il Principe dei cantautori" ("The Prince of the singer-songwriters"), a nickname referring to the elegance of his lyrics. He is often referred as singer-songwriter and poet, although he prefers to be identified simply as "artist". Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, commonly known as San Siro, is a football stadium in the San Siro district of Milan, Italy, which is the home of A.C. Milan and Inter Milan. "Albachiara" is a song recorded by Italian singer-songwriter Vasco Rossi for his second studio album, ''Non siamo mica gli americani'', and released as a single by Lotus Records on 25 May 1978. The song was produced by Alan Taylor and written by Vasco Rossi himself, although its lyrics are officially credited to both Rossi and Taylor.
