Tracey McLellan
Tracey Lee McLellan (born 20 May 1970) is a New Zealand politician. In 2020 she was elected as a Member of Parliament in the House of Representatives for the Labour Party. Early life McLellan was born in Sydney Australia in May 1970, before moving to Southland, where she grew up in a state house. Her mother was disabled and unable to work. McLellan moved to Christchurch in 2002. McLellan has a Master's degree from Massey University, and a PhD in psychology from the University of Canterbury and worked in academic psychology specializing in sports injuries and concussion, as a research scientist at the University of Canterbury. Later she became a union organiser for the New Zealand Nurses Organisation. Political career McLellan has been a member of the Labour Party since 2011. Ruth Suzanne Dyson (born 11 August 1957) is a former New Zealand politician. She was a Labour Party Member of Parliament from 1993 to 2020. She represented the electorate from the election to 2020. She also held a number of senior offices in the Labour Party, including president. Early life and career Dyson was born in Lower Hutt in 1957. Her father served in the New Zealand Army, and so Dyson's family frequently moved around the country. Sumner is a coastal seaside suburb of Christchurch, New Zealand and was surveyed and named in 1849 in honour of John Bird Sumner, the then newly appointed Archbishop of Canterbury and president of the Canterbury Association. Originally a separate borough, it was amalgamated with the city of Christchurch as communications improved and the economies of scale made small town boroughs uneconomic to operate. The Christchurch City Council is the local government authority for Christchurch in New Zealand. It is a territorial authority elected to represent the people of Christchurch.
