Toy Machine
Toy Machine is a skateboarding company, housed under the Tum Yeto distribution company, started by Ed Templeton in 1993. History Prior to inception, Templeton was unable to decide on either "Toy Skateboards" or "Machine Skateboards" for a company name—friend and fellow professional skateboarder Ethan Fowler suggested a combination of the two propositions. Some of the skateboarders who joined the company during its early period were Brian Anderson, Elissa Steamer, and Brad Staba; however, all three quit the company at the same time. Austin Stephens then joined the team, followed by Caswell Berry, Diego Bucchieri, and Josh Harmony. Stephens, the longest-serving team member aside from Templeton, retired from professional skateboarding in December 2013. Zero Skateboards
Zero Skateboards is a skateboard company located in Carlsbad, California, United States. The brand was founded by professional skateboarder and entrepreneur Jamie Thomas, and distributed by his Black Box Distribution company. In late June 2014, Thomas announced that the brand would be distributed by the Dwindle Distribution company, based in El Segundo, California. Subsequently, in 2016, Thomas and Dwindle announced that Zero Skateboards would be operated independently by Thomas. History The Zero brand was originally a clothing company, formed in 1996, and subsequently evolved into a skateboard company, with Thomas leaving Toy Machine to become Zero's first professional team rider. In early 2003, Thomas opened a plant in Tijuana, Mexico, named "Edieth and Osuna", to manufacture the skateboard decks of the Black Box brands. Leo Romero
Leo Romero (born November 28, 1986) is a professional skateboarder whose early skateboarding influences included Heath Kirchart, Jamie Thomas and Andrew Reynolds. Early life Romero was born in Fontana, California, United States and is the son of Mexican immigrant parents. Romero first started skating around 1997 with his friendship crew "The Death Junkies". Romero revealed in a 2009 interview that he "was ditching school and skating with friends" during his adolescence, while in a 2010 interview he explained that when he was growing up he knew what he wanted and did not let other people bother him. Kerry Getz
Kerry Getz (born June 10, 1975) is an American professional skateboarder. Biography Getz has been skateboarding since the age of nine. Alongside Fred Gall, Tim O'Conner and Rob Pluhowski, Getz was one of the original team members of the Habitat brand that was originally conceived as an offshoot of the Alien Workshop skateboard company. However, in the announcement of Habitat's move to the Tum Yeto distribution company, Getz's name does not appear in the team list. Getz is known for his anger issues towards his skateboarding, earning him the nickname "Hockey Temper". A montage of his outbursts appears in the introduction to his ''Skate More'' video part for the DVS Shoes company. Chad Michael Muska (born May 20, 1977) is an American professional skateboarder. In November 2012, Skin Phillips, editor-in-chief of ''Transworld Skateboarding'', described Muska as "one of the most marketable pros skateboarding has ever seen." Muska was inducted into the Skateboarding Hall of Fame in 2020. Early life Chad Muska was born in Lorain, Ohio to Joel Kevin Muska and Deborah Ann Muska. Jamie Thomas
Jamie Thomas (born October 11, 1974) is an American professional skateboarder and entrepreneur. He is the owner and founder of Zero Skateboards. Thomas' nickname in the skateboard industry is "The Chief". Early life Thomas was born in Florida. He grew up in Dothan, Alabama, but also spent time as a child in Atlanta, Georgia, and Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, for his father's work as a nuclear engineer.
