Odoardo Toscani
Odoardo Toscani (19 December 1859 – 13 June 1914) was an Italian painter, mainly of portraits and battle scenes, genre scenes and Orientalist themes. Life and career He was born in Rome in 1859 from David Toscani (a professor of Forensic Law and dean of the School of Medicine of the University of Rome La Sapienza) and Augusta Leonini-Pignotti (a noblewoman). He graduated in Law from the University of Rome. He undertook a career as a diplomat and later in life traveled to Tunisia, Turkey and to Egypt where he served as Consul General in representation of the Kingdom of Italy. He was a painter who focused primarily on battle scenes, and paintings of orientalist themes. Among his works: ''Crimea, August 15, 1855'', was presented at Exposition of Turin of 1883. Giro Di Toscana
The Giro di Toscana is a road bicycle race held annually in Tuscany, Italy. From 2005 to 2014, the race has been organised as a 1.1 event on the UCI Europe Tour. The race was not held in 2015. On 4 April 2016 it was announced that the race will return in September 2016 as a three-race challenge (similar to the Trittico Lombardo or Vuelta a Mallorca), consisting in three one-day races held consecutively in Tuscany. Each race will award points to the best placed riders, and the rider who score most points will win the overall classification of Giro della Toscana. This new edition will be named ''Giro della Toscana - Memorial Alfredo Martini'', in memory of Alfredo Martini, former cyclist and coach of the Italy national cycling team. Toscanelli is a tiny, bowl-shaped lunar impact crater that is located to the north of the prominent crater Aristarchus, in the northwestern part of the Moon. ''Toscana phlebovirus'' (TOSV) is an arbovirus (arthropod-borne virus) belonging to ''Bunyavirales'', an order of negative-stranded, enveloped RNA viruses. The virus can be transmitted to humans by the bite of an infected sandfly of the genus ''Phlebotomus''. Toscana is not normally associated with disease, as indicated by high seroprevalence rates (up to 25%) in endemic areas, but in common with other sandfly transmitted viruses such as ''Naples virus'' and '' Sicilian virus'', infection may result in Pappataci fever, an illness with mild fever, headache and myalgia. In serious cases that go undiagnosed, acute meningitis, meningoencephalitis and encephalitis may occur. There is no specific treatment for infection, so treatment is supportive, reducing the severity of symptoms until the immune system has cleared the infection. Oziel Toscano Jasso (born December 20, 1973) is a Mexican professional wrestler, or ''Luchador'' as they are known in Spanish. He has achieved most success under the ring names Tarzan Boy and Toscano. After making his professional wrestling debut in 1993 he has worked for a number of notable professional wrestling promotions in and outside of Mexico such as Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre, AAA, the World Wrestling Federation, International Wrestling Revolution Group, and Promo Azteca. Pia Toscano (born October 14, 1988) is an American singer. Toscano placed ninth on the tenth season of ''American Idol''. In 2016, she released the EP ''Belong''. Her debut album ''I'm Good'' was released on October 14, 2022. Early life Toscano was born in New York City on October 14, 1988, to Jane and Pat Toscano, and grew up in Howard Beach, Queens. Her father worked as a corporate executive. She is of Italian descent. She began performing in talent shows when she was four and, by the time she was nine, had performed in a local church production of ''Jesus Christ Superstar''.
