Torleif Torkildsen
Torleif Torkildsen (; 12 May 1892 – 14 October 1944) was a Norwegian gymnast and tennis player who competed in the 1912 Summer Olympics. He was part of the Norwegian gymnastics team, which won the bronze medal in the gymnastics men's team, Swedish system event. In tennis he was a member of the Norway Davis Cup team, in which he granted Norway's first victorious rubber in the tie against Hungary in 1929 by beating Imre Takáts Imre is a Hungarian masculine first name, which is also in Estonian use, where the corresponding name day is 10 April. Jack Nielsen (tennis)
Jack Fridtjof Charles Hücke Coucheron Nobel Nielsen (; 3 August 1896 – 9 January 1981) was a Norwegian tennis player. He was a six-time national tennis champion of Norway. Biography He was born in Egersund to Peter Godtfried Albert Nielsen, a customs chief officer, and Karen Andrea Coucheron Aamodt. He married Anne-Sofie Troye, daughter of a school principal in Trondheim. He was the father of skier Jack Nielsen. Nielsen graduated as a chemical engineer from the Dresden University of Technology in 1917. In 1921 he earned his doctorate in the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology on Hydrogenation. In 1924 he worked as a brewmaster in Copenhagen. In 1918-19 he became chemist in the Aktieselskab Northern Chromate Industrial. In 1922-31 he was employed by the Christiania Aktie Ølbryggeri Oslo's main beer brewery, where he was promoted the head distiller. The ''Great Norwegian Encyclopedia'' ( no, Store Norske Leksikon, abbreviated ''SNL''), is a Norwegian-language online encyclopedia. Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. Kunnskapsforlaget () is a Norwegian publishing company based in Oslo. Kunnskapsforlaget was established in 1975, as a partnership between H. Aschehoug & Co. (W. Nygaard) and Gyldendal Norsk Forlag. The purpose was to co-operate on publishing encyclopaedias and dictionaries. The first volume of Store norske leksikon (SNL) was published in 1978. A total of four editions was published (the last one in 2004), before the online version was transferred to Institusjonen Fritt Ord og Sparebankstiftelsen DnB in 2011. Kunnskapsforlaget is the largest dictionary publisher in Norway. They publish both printed books, and digital dictionaries that are available through the online service Ordnett (launched in 2004).
