Torild Wardenær
Torild Wardenær (born 30 November 1951) is a Norwegian poet and playwright. She hails from Stavanger. She made her literary debut 1994 with the poetry collection ''I pionértiden'', which earned her Aschehoug's debutant prize. She received the Halldis Moren Vesaas Prize in 1998. She was awarded the Mads Wiel Nygaards Endowment and Herman Wildenvey Poetry Award in 1997. Among her later collections are ''Paradiseffekten'' (2004) and ''PSI'' (2007). Stavanger (, , American English, US usually , ) is a city and municipalities of Norway, municipality in Norway. It is the fourth largest city and third largest metropolitan area in Norway (through conurbation with neighboring Sandnes) and the administrative center of Rogaland county. The municipality is the fourth most populous in Norway. Mads Wiel Nygaards Endowment
Mads Wiel Nygaard's Endowment is an annually awarded literary prize from the publishing house Aschehoug. The prize is a recognition of superior literary work. The publisher's editorial management makes the award based on their collective judgement of merit. Applications are not accepted. The endowment is awarded in recognition of Mads Wiel Nygaard (1898–1952). Nygaard was the chief executive officer of Aschehoug. In 1940, he replaced his father William Martin Nygaard as CEO and served in that position until his own death during November 1952. Herman Wildenvey Poetry Award
The Herman Wildenvey Poetry Award ( no, Herman Wildenveys Poesipris) is a Norwegian award. It is conferred every year on July 20, the birthday of the poet Herman Wildenvey, in an event held at Hergisheim. The award consists of NOK 15,000 and a bronze relief plaque designed by the sculptor Ørnulf Bast. The award is given to a person or institution that has helped foster interest in Herman Wildenvey's poetry and stimulated efforts for his poetic values to hold a greater place in everyday life. The award was conferred for the first time in 1996 by the Wildenvey Society ( no, Wildenvey-selskapet). After this society became defunct in 2014, the award still continued at the initiative of the former directors of the society. The Halldis Moren Vesaas Prize ()Halldis Moren Vesaas (1907—1995) was a Norwegian author, poet and translator. is a Norwegian literary prize which is awarded annually to a Norwegian for lyric or other poetry, which through the quality and magnitude of the work has established a significant voice in Norwegian poetry. The prize was established by the publisher Olaf Norlis Bokhandel upon Halldis Moren Vesaas' death in 1995. The jury consists of a manager from Norlis, the literary director from another publisher and the current head of the Norwegian Writers' Center. The prize has not been awarded since 2007.
