A paramount chief is the English-language designation for the highest-level political leader in a regional or local polity or country administered politically with a chief-based system. This term is used occasionally in anthropological and archaeological theory to refer to the rulers of multiple chiefdoms or the rulers of exceptionally powerful chiefdoms that have subordinated others. Osie Avatime
Osie (, german: Osche) is a village in Świecie County, Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, in north-central Poland. It is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina Osie. It lies approximately north of Świecie, north-east of Bydgoszcz, and north of Toruń. The village has a population of 2,520. The seat of the Wda Landscape Park is located in Osie. History During the German occupation of Poland ( World War II), Osie was one of the sites of executions of Poles, carried out by the Germans in 1939 as part of the '' Intelligenzaktion'', and inhabitants of Osie were also among the victims of a massacre of Poles committed by the German '' Selbstschutz'' in nearby Jastrzębie in January 1940. Volta Region
Volta Region (or Volta) is one of Ghana's sixteen administrative regions, with Ho designated as its capital. It is located west of Republic of Togo and to the east of Lake Volta. Divided into 25 administrative districts, the region is multi-ethnic and multilingual, including groups such as the Ewe, the Guan, and the Akan peoples. The National House of Chiefs is the highest body in Ghana that unites all traditional rulers, chiefs and kings. The institution has backing from the Constitution of Ghana. Membership The various rulers of Ghana's numerous tribes and clans automatically become members of a number of regional houses of chiefs. It is their membership of these regional bodies that qualifies them for membership of the national house. In addition to these chiefs, a number of queen mothers are also appointed to the national house as associate members. These titleholders are appointed for four-year terms, and are eligible for re-appointment thereafter. Although the national and regional houses are dominated by citizens of Ghana, they are affiliated with a number of foreign nationals.
