Tony Derrell Smith (born June 29, 1970) is a former professional American football player who played running back for three seasons for the Atlanta Falcons. Smith is known for supposedly being the player the Falcons drafted with the pick they acquired for Brett Favre in a trade with the Green Bay Packers. Contrary to popular belief, Smith was not drafted with the pick but rather another pick the Falcons had at their disposal. Anthony John Smith CBE is a global border security consultant and former Director General of the UK Border Force. He was previously Gold Commander for the London 2012 Olympic Programme and Regional Director for London and the South East in the UK Border Agency. He was also Head of Border Control in the UK Immigration Service between 2005 and 2007 and Head of Ports and Border Management in Citizenship and Immigration Canada between 2000 and 2003. Anthony Smith (3 August 1894 – 1964) was awarded the George Cross for "outstanding gallantry and devotion to duty in conditions of the utmost danger and difficulty" on 23 February 1944 in rescuing people from a bomb damaged building in the World's End area of Chelsea, London. A chimney sweep and shoemaker by trade, he was attached to the Chelsea Division of the Civil Defence Rescue Service. First World War At the outbreak of war in 1914, Smith enlisted in the Royal Marines Light Infantry, Chatham Division. He was posted to the Royal Marine Brigade of the Royal Naval Division and participated in the landings at ANZAC Cove in April 1915. Smith suffered a foot injury that required his evacuation to Chatham. Anthony Peter Smith (September 23, 1912 – December 26, 1980) was an American sculptor, visual artist, architectural designer, and a noted theorist on art. He is often cited as a pioneering figure in American Minimalist sculpture. Education and early life Smith was born in South Orange, New Jersey, to a waterworks manufacturing family started by his grandfather and namesake, A. P. Smith. Tony contracted tuberculosis around 1916, which lasted through much of elementary school. In an effort to speed his recovery, protect his immune system, and protect his siblings, his family constructed a one-room prefabricated house in the backyard. Tony Lee Smith (born 25 December 1961 in Christchurch) is a short track speed skater from New Zealand. He competed in Short Track Speed Skating at a national level from 1982 until he retired from competitive skating in 1996 aged 34-year-old. During this time he broke or held numerous open or national records in individual or relay skating events. He is still the current New Zealand Record holder for the 160m Straight Sprint, a race that was held each year in conjunction with the National Long Track Speed Skating Championships.
