Tony Settember
Anthony Frank Settember (July 10, 1926 – May 4, 2014) was a racing driver and engineer from the United States. He was born in Manila, Philippines. He participated in seven Formula One World Championship Grands Prix, debuting on July 21, 1962. He scored no championship points. Settember was the nominal head of the Scirocco racing team, and a very efficient driver in sportscars. In addition, he competed in the Trans-Am Series and attempted to qualify for the 1983 Winston Western 500 in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series. His last known participation in motorsport was on his 70th birthday. Straight-4
A straight-four engine (also called an inline-four) is a four-cylinder piston engine where cylinders are arranged in a line along a common crankshaft. The vast majority of automotive four-cylinder engines use a straight-four layout (with the exceptions of the flat-four engines produced by Subaru and Porsche) and the layout is also very common in motorcycles and other machinery. 1963 Formula One Season
The 1963 Formula One season was the 17th season of FIA Formula One motor racing. It featured the 14th FIA World Championship of Drivers, the sixth International Cup for F1 Manufacturers FIA Yearbook, 1974 page 121 and numerous non-championship Formula One races. The World Championship commenced on 26 May, and ended on 28 December after ten races. Season summary Jim Clark won his first championship with seven wins to two by Graham Hill and one by John Surtees in a revised Ferrari. This record number of wins in a season was not equalled until Alain Prost won seven races in driving a McLaren MP4/2, and it was not beaten until when Ayrton Senna won eight races in the McLaren MP4/4 (his teammate Prost again won seven races in 1988). The 1962 South African Grand Prix, formally titled the 9th International RAC Grand Prix of South Africa, was a Formula One motor race held at East London on 29 December 1962. It was the ninth and final race in both the 1962 World Championship of Drivers and the 1962 International Cup for Formula One Manufacturers. The 1962 Italian Grand Prix was a Formula One motor race held at Monza on 16 September 1962. It was race 7 of 9 in both the 1962 World Championship of Drivers and the 1962 International Cup for Formula One Manufacturers. The 1962 German Grand Prix was a Formula One motor race held at the Nürburgring on 5 August 1962. It was race 6 of 9 in both the 1962 World Championship of Drivers and the 1962 International Cup for Formula One Manufacturers. The 1962 French Grand Prix was a Formula One motor race held at Rouen-Les-Essarts on 8 July 1962. It was race 4 of 9 in both the 1962 World Championship of Drivers and the 1962 International Cup for Formula One Manufacturers. The race was won by Dan Gurney, his first Formula One victory, driving a Porsche, that company's only win as a constructor in a Formula One championship race coming after three years of racing.
