Tony Packard
Anthony Charles Packard (born 14 April 1943) is a former Australian politician. He was the Liberal member for The Hills in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly from 1990 to 1993. He had previously migrated to Australia from England in 1967 and operated a new-car dealership in outer Sydney. Early life Packard was born in London, England, the son of Charles and Maude Packard. He was educated at Peter Symonds College, a private school in Winchester, before becoming a clerk at Barclays and Lombards banks. New-car dealership Tony Packard Holden was a successful and profitable business that used the advertising catch phrase "just up the Windsor Road from Baulkham Hills, and let me do it right for you!" In the course of that business, he illegally used concealed listening devices, later to be the subject of criminal charges. Holden, formerly known as General Motors-Holden, was an Australian subsidiary company of General Motors. It was an Australian automobile manufacturer, importer, and exporter which sold cars under its own marque in Australia. In its last three years, it switched entirely to importing cars. Fred Caterson
Frederick Douglas Claude Caterson (20 August 1919 – 25 February 2000) was an Australian politician. He was the Liberal member for The Hills in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly from 1976 to 1990. Caterson was born at Nobbys Creek near the Tweed River, attending Sydney Boys High School from 1930–1935. He served in the Australian Military Forces before becoming chief industrial officer of Qantas 1943–1959. In 1959 he became Secretary of the Department of Labour and Chairman of the Employment Board of Papua New Guinea. In 1956 he was elected to Baulkham Hills Shire Council, serving until 1959. A member of the Liberal Party, he was re-elected in 1962 and served as Deputy President 1958–59 and 1965–83. The Liberal Party of Australia (New South Wales Division), commonly known as the New South Wales Liberals, is the state division of the Liberal Party of Australia in New South Wales. The party currently governs in New South Wales in coalition with the National Party of Australia (NSW). The party is part of the federal Liberal Party which is in opposition nationally. Following the Liberal Party's formation in October 1944, the NSW division of the Liberal Party was formed in January 1945.
