Thomas J. Walker was a footballer who played on the right-wing for Burslem Port Vale and Burton Swifts in the 1890s. Career Walker probably joined Burslem Port Vale in December 1891. He scored a goal on his debut at outside-right in a 3–1 defeat at Doncaster Rovers in a Midland League match on 12 December 1891. He was a first team regular and managed to bag a goal in the 2–0 Staffordshire Charity Cup final triumph over local rivals Stoke on 7 May 1892. He scored three goals in 15 Second Division games in the 1892–93 season. His first goal in the English Football League came on 24 September, in a 4–1 win over Crewe Alexandra at the Athletic Ground, and he later claimed goals in home defeats to Darwen and Ardwick. Thomas Walker OBE (26 May 1915 – 11 January 1993) was a Scottish footballer, who played for Heart of Midlothian, Chelsea and the Scotland national team. He later managed Hearts and Raith Rovers before becoming a director of Hearts in his later years. Thomas Jackson Walker (14 November 1923 – 13 June 2005) was an English centre-half who also played as an outside-right. He spent the first twelve years of his career playing for Newcastle United before moving to Oldham Athletic and Chesterfield. Despite his success at club level he was not selected to play for the England national team. He was often overshadowed by the big reputations of teammates such as Jackie Milburn, George Robledo and Bobby Mitchell. Thomas Walker (5 February 185810 May 1932), commonly referred to as Tommy Walker, was an Australian politician, a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly and the Western Australian Legislative Assembly. Walker was born in Preston, Lancashire, England, the son of corn miller and merchant Thomas Walker, and Ellen née Eccles. He was educated at Leyland Grammar School, then worked as a schoolteacher at Preston for two years. He then emigrated to Canada, where he worked as a farmhand and chemist's assistant.
