Tommy Stinson
Thomas Eugene Stinson (born October 6, 1966) is an American rock musician. He came to prominence in the 1980s as the bass guitarist for The Replacements, one of the definitive American alternative rock groups. After their breakup in 1991, Stinson formed Bash & Pop, acting as lead vocalist, guitarist and frontman. In the mid-1990s he was the singer and bassist for the rock band Perfect, and eventually joined the hard rock band Guns N' Roses in 1998. Stinson released his debut solo album, '' Village Gorilla Head'' in 2004 and subsequently joined Soul Asylum for the completion of their album '' The Silver Lining'', and was a member of the band for the album's tour in 2006 before joining them as a permanent member until 2011. Robert Neil Stinson (December 17, 1959 – February 18, 1995) was an American musician best known as a founding member and lead guitarist of the American rock band The Replacements. Biography Early life Bob Stinson was born on December 17, 1959 in Waconia, Minnesota to Neil and Anita Stinson. They divorced when he was two years old. Duff McKagan
Michael Andrew "Duff" McKagan (born February 5, 1964), sometimes credited as Duff "Rose" McKagan, is an American musician. He played bass for twelve years in the hard rock band Guns N' Roses, with whom he achieved worldwide success in the late 1980s and early 1990s. McKagan rejoined the band in 2016, following their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Toward the end of his first tenure with Guns N' Roses, McKagan released a solo album, '' Believe in Me'' (1993), and formed the short-lived supergroup Neurotic Outsiders. The Silver Lining (Soul Asylum Album)
''The Silver Lining'' is Soul Asylum's 9th studio album. It was released on July 11, 2006, eight years after ''Candy from a Stranger''. It is the last studio album with original bassist Karl Mueller, who died of cancer on June 17, 2005. Mueller was able to play on most of the tracks, while the band brought in Tommy Stinson for the remaining ones. The single "Stand Up And Be Strong" was chosen by ABC and ESPN for their college football coverage for the 2006-2007 season. ''Village Gorilla Head'' is the debut album by Guns N' Roses and Replacements bassist Tommy Stinson released on July 27, 2004 through Sanctuary Records. The album featured contributions by Stinson's Guns N' Roses bandmates Richard Fortus and Dizzy Reed, Dave Philips and Gersh of his previous band Perfect as well as former bandmate Josh Freese and his brother Jason. Background and recording Initially, Stinson began writing and recording songs at his home studio in the late 1990s without the intention of making a record. The Figgs are a rock ‘n’ roll band formed in Saratoga Springs, New York in 1987. Originally known as The Sonic Undertones, their output includes thirteen studio albums and multiple EPs and singles. They’ve served as the backing band for rock and roll legend Graham Parker on and off since 1996 and also toured with Tommy Stinson of The Replacements fame. Background The original lineup of Mike Gent (guitar), Pete Donnelly (bass), and Guy Lyons (drums), all went to high school together. Lyons temporarily left the band in 1989 and was replaced by Pete Hayes. When he returned in 1992, Hayes remained on drums and Lyons moved to lead guitar. Alien Crime Syndicate, often abbreviated to ACS, were a rock band formed in San Francisco, California, in 1997. From 1999 to the band's breakup in 2005, the lineup consisted primarily of Joe Reineke (vocals, guitar), Jeff Rouse (bass, backing vocals), Nabil Ayers (drums), while guitarists Jason Krevey, Mike Squires and Mike Davis were also members of the band. Soul Asylum is an American alternative rock band formed in 1981 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Their 1993 hit "Runaway Train (Soul Asylum song), Runaway Train" won the Grammy Award for Best Rock Song. The band was originally called Loud Fast Rules, with a lineup consisting of Dave Pirner, Dan Murphy (musician), Dan Murphy, Karl Mueller (rock musician), Karl Mueller, and Pat Morley.
