Tom Hawk
Thomas Dale Hawk (born September 18, 1946) is a Democratic member of the Kansas Senate for the 22nd district. He was formerly a member of the Kansas House of Representatives, representing the 67th District, serving 2005-2011, until being defeated by Republican Susan Mosier. Hawk is the owner of Tom Hawk Incorporated Professional Photography. He previously served as superintendent, school administrator, counselor and teacher at Manhattan-Ogden Public Schools. He received his BS in math education, MS in counseling, and PhD in educational administration from Kansas State University. Hawk previously served on the Governor's Education Policy Task Force, City-County Land Use Task Force, and Governor's Best Team for Agriculture and Natural Resources. Riley County (standard abbreviation: RL) is a county located in the U.S. state of Kansas. As of the 2020 census, the population was 71,959. The largest city and county seat is Manhattan. Riley County is home to two of Kansas's largest employers: Fort Riley and Kansas State University. History Riley County, named for Mexican–American War general Bennet Riley, was on the western edge of the 33 original counties established by the Kansas Territorial Legislature in August 1855. For organizational purposes, Riley County initially had attached to it Geary County and all land west of Riley County, across Kansas Territory into present-day Colorado. Geary County (county code GE) is a county located in the U.S. state of Kansas. As of the 2020 census, the county population was 36,739. Its county seat and most populous city is Junction City. Kansas's 22nd Senate District
Kansas's 22nd Senate district is one of 40 districts in the Kansas Senate. It has been represented by Democrat Usha Reddi since 2023, succeeding fellow Democrat Tom Hawk. Geography District 22 is based in Manhattan, covering all of Clay and Riley Counties as well as a small part of northern Geary County. Other communities in the district include Clay Center, Ogden, Wakefield, Riley, and parts of western Junction City.
